Oliver Kylington could be around at #10-#12 which is likely where the Flyers will pick. He would be a great addition. Not sure why everyone is so in love with Crouse. - smellmyfinger

Not going to go as far as to say I'm glad JvR's gone, but I definitely don't believe this team would be all that much better with him in the mix, either. The problems they have at ES, he doesn't really help with. - Tomahawk
It would have been nice to get a better return for him. Luke Schenn has had a pretty good run of late, but he's still a 4-5 guy at best. A guy that can score like JvR, despite his shortcomings, should be worth more |

That was a 2nd-rounder back then, too. Hooray for diabetes.

Every time I think of this, I remind myself MDZ cost us nothing.
It makes me feel better.
Just a little. |

Nonsense. Superstars like Shea Weber and Giroux are only available in the top 5. |

Just piling on to what others mentioned regarding Straka.
I thought last night was his best game of the three and he seemed to gain confidence with each game.
Great wheels and could handle the puck well in a tight checking game.
What a thrill for him to get in a few games.
Of course he needs to work on his play without the puck, but with his skating and puck handling, if he improves his two way play I think he could have a shot at the NHL.
Going back to draft order, etc...
without Mason they are a lottery pick team easily, maybe even bottom 5.
with Mase, they should be in the hunt for a a wild card spot. Maybe not this year with their G-awful road PK, and crap season from key guys like Coburn and Read.
He clearly is their most important player. Well, that may be a stretch but he is just as key as G and Jake in regards to how bad they would be if any of those three get hurt. |

Marner, Zacha, Barzal, I'm not saying Crouse won't be a good player, but I've seen him ranked as high as 4 or 5 and I just don't get it. - smellmyfinger
Agreed. It's a good draft. There's a lot of skill in the top 12-15, and even beyond. I wouldn't be upset if the Flyers got Crouse, but have others that I prefer. |

He might have cracked mine. He played well in the loss to Erie. He's a good player. |

You have to be vigilant as a GM. If you're going to go hard after a guy and pay him a ton or trade a ton for him, make sure he's got a skill set that is hard to find.
You need guys like MacDonald and Luke Schenn, but when you pay a premium for them, that's when you have troubles. |

If they can't get hanifin I would love to see them get kylington or werenski
drafting and developing your own high end D skill is so damn important in these cap days
maybe I am over reacting to them having no D prospects for so long but I want hanifin bad! |

Yeah, If they end up 7-10, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be happy almost no matter who they pick. |

speaking of young D I loved watching morgan rielly last night
that little end to end skate he took early in the first period was pretty coffee-esque |

More of the same...things are getting better.
Doc told her she has Crohn's too, and hip degeneration, the latter being autoimmune, obviously.
That's what the remicade's for!
Thanks for thinking of her marc |

Seems like he could just as easily be a guy everybody wonders how he went that high, as a guy everybody wonders how he went that low. |

He's got so much raw skill it's scary. I'd hate to see the Leafs screw him up. He's fun to watch |

He could always score. But he's a lot more like old Ovechkin this season. Being physical, hitting more, bulling guys over. Trotz seems to have unlocked his passion a bit, he's having fun again. |

In Homer's defense, he's not the only GM that is guilty of that, but yeah, I'm half full today, too |
