Ducks, Sabres have reportedly held 'regular talks' on Tyler Myers
by Justin Cuthbert Feb 1, 3:17 PM
The Anaheim Ducks have reportedly been talking consistently with the Buffalo Sabres about trade possibilities for Tyler Myers, according to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun.
"Anaheim GM Bob Murray doesn't want Myers going to the Red Wings - or anywhere else for that matter - and has held regular talks with Buffalo," Garrioch writes.
Anaheim, which has survived a series of injuries to its blue line to sit atop the league standings, has both the prospect depth and cap room presumably necessary to land the towering defenseman - and his expensive seven-year contract.
Myers enjoyed a strong start to the season, but has seen his play dip along with the rest of his Sabres teammates. He has two goals, 10 points and a nearly league-worst Corsi For percentage of 34.4. |

I like Zads more than you do and have higher hope for him. I like Risto and believe he is going to be the Sabres #1 Dman in a couple years. I think Pysyk is going to be a solid #4 Dman in a year or two who is going to help the Sabres transition game and pass nicely. - GilPerreault11
Pretty sure he has said this about them too except Zadorov who sbroads is still unsure of (we all should be too)
Fact, there are times Risto looks lost in his own zone he is a rookie its expected
Fact, Myers produced a lot his first 2 years in the league a lot had to do with the team he had in front of him
Fact, Myers eats up a ton of ice time and faces the oppositions best players
Fact we will continue to argue about Myers until he is traded and then we will argue about his return. |

I'm sure I stirred the pot on this snow day in Chicagoland. This Myers talk, unfortunately,is going to continue until he is dealt or his NTC kicks in which should slow it down some. |

Yeah, that doesn't impress me as much as it might some. He is sucking up minutes playing against opposititions best players on one of the worst NHL teams in history and not doing it all that well. As Ted Nolan said the other day they got to play who they got. |

I watch. Did you know Ristolainen has been more sheltered than Mike Weber lately? More coddled zone starts, less PK time.
Plus that "mental break" . Yes he's definitely stronger mentally than Myers - sbroads24
Hey wait a second leave Mike Weber out of this! |

I pretty much knew this.
I have said here that I do not expect Myers to be wearing a Sabres sweater after this years trade deadline.
I won't shed one tear when he's gone that's for certain. |

Yea, and Teddy seemed totally disgusted while saying that.
I remember the quote. |

I think that this is a bit unfair. I cant say enough that they were set up to fail. They knew it coming in and they know at the deadline any talent is going to be shipped out for the future. - ImThatGuy
By "this team" I meant they have to be good on the Sabres
I don't care if Myers or anyone else would be good on the Ducks, Hawks, Wings, etc
That argument is dumb to me
The only thing that matters is whether or not they will be a good player for us |

Myers would be a beast on the Ducks. Maybe in 3 years for us. |

So is
Risto-Myers
Zad-Pysyk
a good top 4 when this team is ready? - ImThatGuy
Eventually, I think McCabe will pass at least Pysyk, and eventually could end up with Ristolainen on our top pair
I know he's had his ups & downs this year, but his type of overall game is the steady type we need up against guys like Crosby & Stamkos, etc
Obv, he still got quite a ways to go though |

It's almost certain they will trade him they don't want to pay him.. Apparently he rejected a 3 year 4.6Mil per year deal. Hes looking for a Myers type deal. 5-5.5 for 6 years or more |

What, if I may ask, is good on the Sabres?
It's hard to find bright spots. Enroth's numbers are average at best, but he's still standing on his head night in and night out.
I just want to know what your definition of good on this team is.
The reason I bring up the fact that Myers will be good on any other team, is that he will not have to change a thing and his numbers go up. Even those tricky little advanced stats that I have little understanding of. |

Maybe they would want Cody to come home? He trains really hard in the offseason and makes that kind of money. |
