Myers would be a beast on the Ducks. Maybe in 3 years for us. - Cheeseballin
That's my point though
Who cares how Myers would be on the ducks?
Idc if Hodgson would be good on Minny back in between Vanek & Pommer...
Or if Stafford would score 35g playing on the wing with the Sedins...
That's all well & good
But the only thing that actually matters is how they all play HERE |

It's been said a million times - I don't know how you could really judge anyone at this point. Some of the guys played over their heads for a while but that isn't sustainable. I think at some point it just kind of became a tidal wave and they really aren't sure how to get out of it. I know they are millionaires but I do feel bad for some of them. |

Yeah, that doesn't impress me as much as it might some. He is sucking up minutes playing against opposititions best players on one of the worst NHL teams in history and not doing it all that well. As Ted Nolan said the other day they got to play who they got. - GilPerreault11
Which is your opinion.
Yet his plus minus isn't that bad relatively speaking since the only D that has a better plus minus than him is Benoit and Meszaros who are a healthy scratch every other night and don't see nearly as much ice time or face the toughest competition.
I know plus minus isn't the best stat to use all the time but that should say something when he is a -12 and Risto and Gorges are a -27

If I had to choose, I would rather have Myers on the ice in pressure situations than anyone else.
Just my opinion. |

U can still do your part
For example,
The Moulson-Girgensons-Ennis line
Yes, they're slumping now, but they've show how good they can be together
Good players will still perform, even when on a bad team
Of course, they won't be nearly as consistent, and their stats will suffer... But u should still be able to tell who is a keeper & who u should dump
Myers, for example, has looked pretty good this year even though his #s are down & he's def had some bad games... "Keeper"
Hodgson though, appears he can only perform when around very good talent... Dump him... Not now, BC he has little trade value. But let's get him with some talent next year & boost his stats. Then we can get something back for him |

And Ted Nolan has agreed. He is the teams best defensemen. There is no debate.
Until Risto/Zads (and I think it's possible) surpass him, he will probably be here |

You are comparing rookies to a 6 year veteran outright like there should be no growing pains for those guys. They have to get to the NHL, play/learn the toughest position and have no growing pains. Wow, you're tough. I at least gave Myers 6 years before I said I'd rather the parts he might bring for the rebuild than his give aways, and limp PP's. |

I don't think he said that at all.
I think he is saying it's possible they pass them. He was saying until both rookies are ready, Myers will be here. I said it wouldn't be this year, but I agreed that they could be better at some point.
Not trying to put words in anyone's mouth, but that's how I took it.

I didn't see much of the west coast trip, but what the hell has happened to the M-G-E line?
Those guys need to have a line-only meeting and start leading by example. It ain't good enough, I don't care who else tey're on the ice with. Stop the excuses and be accountable.

Would u do that Anaheim trade that's being talked about?
I'm not a big fan of Ritchie, but add Vatanen & a 1st?
That's quite a haul
The only reason I would is BC I happen to like Vatanen quite a bit, plus those extra assets are quite nice |

They've performed for the most part this year
When u only have one good line, good teams can poop that down to a degree
They actually broke that line up and Stewart played on it, Moulson down to 2nd line
Looked like it jump started Stewart though, so I'd keep it that way. Let's build up his trade value over the next couple weeks.
Also, with Moulson on his line, maybe we can get Hodgson scoring again? |

The top line is really a second line that played over their heads for a couple of weeks. I think the whole team has been overcome by the fact that we can't get the puck out of our zone and have almost no sustained offensive pressure. Once again, this team is either woefully short on talent or very young. It was built to be this way. One defensemen isn't going to have glowing numbers. The fact that his plus minus is good (relatively speaking) while playing with the tire fire that is Gorges is rather impressive.

I have this question:
Everyone who says that Myers plays the most minutes on the worst team currently and also NHL history and that that makes him a strong player then where is the logic? If the Sabres were a good team, even an adequate team and he was sucking up minutes then maybe, but he is sucking up bad minutes on an awful team. The Sabres have terrible Corsi numbers, puck possession numbers, SOG and many times Myers plays 25 minutes a game, more than a quarter of the game.
I mean you can't throw it all on him but you would think some of the blood would stop bleeding when he was on the ice and he would cause some damage of his own but he seldom does. Just my humble observation of the reoccurant argument that Myers plays so many minutes

Most minutes against the toughest comp. Yet he still gets scored on the least. There is his value. You can't just throw out a bad a corsi number than forget to analyze everything else. You then sound like Matthew Coller.
Lowest offensive zone starts- still the most points of any D-man. Despite missing 8 games.
It's all relative. |

He is on the ice more than anyone else on the worst team in the NHL currently and in NHL history. That says a lot. Anyway, perhaps why Murray has no problem listening to offers and why he is not untouchable by a long shot. |

So what you are essentially saying is that somehow project how the few players that have talent would be on a good team? The team is almost completely void of talent on the forward lines. That has to mean a lot. |

What does that say exactly? He can't carry a team of 5 by himself? I agree.
Maybe when they have someone better than Girgensons at forward they will posses the puck more. |

Like I said, I expect that everyone's numbers would be down
But good players will still look capable
For me,
Myers is in that group. I do want to keep him. But like Murray said, if trade him if it's the right offer
With some guys (like Hodgson), I'd try to build their value & then ship them off
