I don't know what he'd be worth - a 2nd or 3rd round pick, maybe? I really want to see Jagr finish his career back in Pittsburgh.

He would be lethal with Crosby or Malkin, & it would be a great hockey story to see the Pens win it all

Here is something from the flames gm ( I wish Lou wasn't the polar opposite of this ).

"Those 'A' assets that I look at, those first round picks, top young players, it takes a lot of pain to get those. As we continue to build this organization, those are very, very valuable assets and ones we're not prepared to throw out for the sake of something that might, might help us for a short period of time. You're looking at that long range."

The most difficult part about trading for Jagr is he's becoming a really niche forward. He needs to play in the top six with set linemates who compliment him well. This, I believe, significantly narrows down the possibilities.

Jagr on Malkins RW makes a good amount of sense, however, the Penguins are without a 1st or 3rd this year and they have few offensive prospects to offer us. Their main trading chips are their young D, which it's doubtful Jagr would return any of them regardless.

Maybe as a RW on Perry-Getzlaf? But that moves Perry to LW.

He could rejoin Boston but who knows if they want to go down that road again.

Islanders maybe. But they don't have any picks and their forward prospects are far more valuable than Jagr. Plus their roster is pretty set.

Nashville, but it's doubtful if he can push any of the RWs out of the top six.

Winnipeg is an interesting option, but I don't know how well he fits team-wise.

Detroit could definitely use him over Abdelkader or Helm in the top six. Although most Red Wings fans I've heard from don't want to pay up for him because the team isn't really a bonafide contender.

Montreal is a potential destination, if they are interested.

I think that's about it for potential destinations.

He could be a pretty interesting set up man for stammer and they have tons and tons of young kids with potential so many that the put Panik on waivers.

No room.

They have an excess of forwards. So much that they are playing Killorn, Filpulla, and Kucherov on the wings and Connolly in a fourth line PP specialist role.

He's not bumping Kucherov or Callahan out of the top six.

I agree with Todd. The Devils will get more then most people think for Jagr. I can see lou squeezing a mid tier prospect plus a second rounder in the up coming draft out of someone

Anyone who thinks Jagr is getting traded for anything less than a 2nd rd pick+ an ok prospect or a 2nd/cond 1st rd pick is nuts. The guy is still a possession beast and while he isn't producing points at an elite level, he's still putting up quality numbers. He's at least the 2nd line RW on any team in the league and the 1st line RW on many of them. He has the ability to turn any line into a nightmare for the opposition's defense with his elite ability to cycle the puck down low.

Anyone who cites his lack of production after the trade to Boston is just stupid. The guy was really unlucky. He put something like 60 shots on net and somehow didn't have one go in. Not his fault at all. He was still creating plenty of chances.

While the draft is supposed to be good this year, I'd really like to see if LL can bring back a quality forward prospect for Jagr. If he could find a young, NHL ready prospect that plays RW, that would be perfect. The Devils need RH shots for next year badly, especially if Jagr signs somewhere else in the summer or retires.

The only other thing I'd be willing to accept in trade other than draft picks is a center prospect. We also need someone who can slot into the 3rd line center role and excel. We can't play Zubrus or Cammalleri there next year. It's a total waste. Zubrus can't play center anymore and has no offense. He needs to either be stapled to the 4th line and PK or be bought out and Cammalleri needs to be playing with a quality playmaker since he's our best pure goal scorer and that's what we acquired him for.

6-2-2 in the last 10. Lou just doesn't get it. We NEED a top 5 pick a lot more than we need to finish 20th instead of 25th in the league...

You're absolutely right. But we can't blame them for not knowing. not many people watch or follow the Devils unless their team is playing against them.
