It's Buffalo or waivers next year.

Jr said it earlier this year and I thought he was off his rocker. I looked it up in the CBA and he was correct. Grigorenko's only options next year is Buffalo or needing to clear waiver to play in the AHL. It seems as though the Buffalo prior brass really screwed the pooch on this.

I'd like to see what that's about, because I'm lost. If he's not on the Buffalo roster, how would he have to clear waivers? Can he not just stay in Rochester and sign a new contract? Also, there's a "Free" period that ends 12 days before the regular season, so he could always be assigned before that.
