How do you get that im saying "full of it" and "posts crap" out of literally "2nd hand information"? You just admitted, as you have plenty of times before thats its 2nd hand information... you get it from someone who gets it from someone who gets it from... Murray?

Stop being so defensive about it, Im not calling you a liar or anything like that, just skeptical about what youre being fed.

- theblueandgold

Maybe if you talked with people here instead of acting like you know it all, there wouldn't be any problems. you can be skeptical all you want that's your choice, nobody is forcing you to believe what i'm posting.

So Garth, EK, TSN and others, I guess that's second hand info as well? does that make you skeptical about them and wrong?

If I had to pick a side I'm probably on the trade Myers side, but I don't understand the hate really. He's far from the biggest problem on this team.
- Pierceme69

I don't hate the guy, I just get sick of the Tyler Myers police on here whenever anyone says anything about trading him or about his play.

I think he's #2 or #3 D man, closer to a #3 on a good team, #4 on a really good team with a great defense.

He's also a rookie
Why do u keep bringing him up?

- jdfitz77

Because it's as relevant as you bringing up Mike Weber and point totals

Would Matt Moulson or Zemgus Girgensons be a top 6 player on LA, St. Louis or Chicago? Honest question
- sbroads24

No

Girgensons might fill in once and awhile

Moulson might play their PP

People need to understand that we are all fans and like any fan you're going to have a certain group of players you really like. If people talk about trading those players you're going to get a passionate fan response.

Myers is a hard player to part with, his size, speed and skill make it hard to not build around him. IMO he looks a little lost but this team this season is lost. Do I think he's worth Hall straight up ? no I don't but if you add a piece with Myers IMO you can get Hall. IMO, it doesn't make sense to move Myers unless you get a young NHL scoring winger back in return.

Why people are talking about AHL players coming back for Myers is beyond me, I can't see that happening at all.

The media has turned this Myers thing into a side show.

So two of our 3 "best forwards" don't scratch the top 6 on most contending teams, but we are expecting a defensemen to carry the play and produce anyway?

Myers makes bad plays, he was just ok tonight, ended with a ton of minutes and an assist. I don't get why it isn't just left at that

A good portion of the people that post Myers should be moved and isn't good say that Ristolainen and Zadorov have made Myers expendable.
- HonkFortheGoose

Sbroads knows I don't wanna trade Myers unless it's for a really big package
And it's also reasonable to think that a guy drafted higher & known for strong defensive play would eventually be better defensively than a guy drafted as an offensive defenseman. Ristolainen isn't gonna be a shutdown defenseman overnight though.

I talk with people here. Sorry that Im strong about my informed opinions. By the way some people on here talk about players or the game of hockey, Im 100% confident I know more than them. Sorry.

And Im not really bothered to know about something before it happens. Im content with finding out when it becomes reality. I will say I believe there are MORE trades that do NOT happen than ones that do.

No it's not
Myers should be MUCH better offensively than Weber, regardless of the circumstances
Ristolainen is a rookie
And u bringing up irrelevant things (to your own admission) doesn't strengthen any argument u make about Myers

I think Moulson would play on their top 2, he has demonstrated throughout his career that when he is surrounded by good players he puts the puck in the net on a regular basis.

No clue.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quick to put up a laugh emoticon at a Weber folly, but it's almost a running joke to rag on him

You talk down to people and your statement you just made " I'm 100% confident that I know more than them" tells me everything I need to know. you keep going and going to make sure you are right all the time.

You talk down to people here not with them and you wonder why the problems start. your knowledge is overwhelming, that's why you are on Hockey Buzz.

Top pairing defenseman are harder to get than top scoring wingers. They are more valued to the core of the team than wingers are. Sorry, but Hall is not on my list right now, and if Im going after Hall, Im not giving up 2015 1st, Reinhart, Girgensons, Myers, Risto, Zads. Thats the core of my new team.

How many scoring wingers have been traded or signed in FA over the last 10 years compared to top pairing defenseman and centers?

Kessel, Hossa, Iginla, Kovalchuk, Voracek, Ryan, Neal, Nash, Gaborik, Heatley.... you dont build around scoring wingers. Not absolute to the success of winning the cup.

Sigh..
Mike Weber Off zone start % 46.
Tyler Myers off zone start % 36

Comp. Myers faces >>>>> Comp Weber faces

Also, stats are relative for this team. You do know Myers has almost double his point total right?

We have 4 players with over 20 points and 3 of them are on one line, not sure how any defensemen on this team would be expected to produce points with that.

The myers stuff is beyond old. I used to think it was fun looking to see what other teams fans think of our better players, but the myers rumors all look the same on their end "we'll give you our 5th best prospect (who is 5'7" and not a strong skater), a second rounder in 2016, and one gently used condom". Im sick of hearing his name. And why the (frank) is it always a second rounder?
