You asked why a GM would leak info....did you not? Then turned around and said that there are other people in rooms that leak info
- sbroads24

Leaking info is COMPLETELY different than Murray coming out and saying he has interest in Mantha, Hall, etc... Or that he's shopping Stewart, Stafford, Myers, whoever...
A GM makes public statements like that about his own players and he disrupts his own team.
And apparently u are unaware that GMs are not allowed to comment publically about players in other organizations.

The type of "proof" you're looking for isn't going to happen...
Not to mention,
What GM would even wanna deal with Murray if he were going to the Press and giving them quotes about private trade discussions?

That's crazy

So what if Ken Holland leaked info that they had talks? You said yourself it's politics. Is that not possible? What if Murray never even asked about Mantha but Holland wanted to steer teams away from Myers. Make it seem like Murray was being unreasonable
- sbroads24

Then Holland would piss off Murray, make it more difficult to get Myers if they wanted him and Murray would try hard to deal him to a team that could face Detroit in the playoffs and Holland and Murray wouldn't have a good working relationship. Holland would be cutting off his nose to spite his face. I'm pretty sure GM's don't do that.

How would Murray have any clue it was Holland?

Would Murray not be doing the exact same thing right now to Holland by coming out and saying he hasn't made a call on Myers ?? You can't have it both ways.

Funny thing is it won't bother me that much, because if he is moved it will be for a haul. I just love debating flawed biased opinions or rumors played off as facts
- sbroads24

The only as close to fact that there is out there is that Mantha was offered for Myers and Mantha was turned down. Stud #1 turned down for Grand Rapids center with 7 goals.

Saying HE never made a call is totally different than steering other teams away from your player. That is dirty, Murray saying he never made a call is understood to be necessary and is benign in nature.

It's politics like you said. It's all dirty. Unless you are just like me and don't actually know anything. Difference is I'm taking Murray at his word, you are taking an insider at his

You have to be a sap to take Murray at his word and yes, I'll take Bob McKenzie at his word verified definitively by Elliote Friedman that the Sabres offered Myers for Mantha and it was non starter.

Then I'm a sap. I'll be sure to listen closer to Bobby and follow up on all of his info. I'm sure it's always spot on

Holy S, why do teams 9 - 12 have to be so bad? The Isles are starting to look extremely vulnerable. Would be nice to get their pick into the top 15 as that would make it easier to move up.

I hate to say it but I am starting to come around to the idea of moving him for something less than overpayment. The conversation on GR this morning helped me to realize that I liked the stability that he appears to bring to the defense. However, he really isn't anywhere near being an all-star and he doesn't do much of anything that really stands out. On a good team he is a 3-4 guy. I still like him but I am really starting to question why I wouldn't move him for a young stud forward prospect.

I'm not trying to re-hash all of this. In a way I think it is a good thing for me because I thought I would be kind of sad if they did move him.

Listen, I don't claim to be any insider my uncle is very close friends with someone on the Sabres staff as a matter of fact anyone can see him during games if they swing the camera across the bench. Him and my uncle talk during the week when they have time and if he has some trade info my uncle passes it on to me. Correct, it is texted to me when he finds out but that info my change as well. But don't make it sound like i'm full of it and I post " crap" just to post, I have no reason to do that nor would I do that.

I would never step on Michael's feet, this is his blog not mine, if I know something it's nice to pass it along am I right all the time, no i'm not.

Called the Moulson (and I think Gionta) signing. Also, it's not like you're saying Myers for xyz is a done deal.. you, along with the spirit of this website, calls out the offer presented, or the conversation that took place. It's impossible to prove, but like you said, lying about it has no advantage to you. We're all here clamoring for information, so when some one throws us a bone, take it with a grain of salt for at least the purposes of knowing what's going through Murray's head to cut down on speculation and throwing darts in the dark.

Murray doesn't want Mantha? That's news to almost everyone.

If Myers was too valuable he would be untouchable like Girgensons and Murray wouldn't have "had regular conversations with Anaheim" alone as per this weekends article. I think it's a matter of semantics about who calls who. The point is Murray is talking about dealing Myers be it at the deadline or most likely in the offseason.

I wanted to hang to on to Myers until this season but 6 years was enough and think if there is a market for him a trade could expedite the rebuild if some team sees potential at age 25 and offers a good package.

- GilPerreault11

This is a good idea. We should trade a blossoming defenseman with extremely rare tools before he hits his prime.

Trade him if we bend someone else over a barrel. That is all.

That is what I said yesterday SB.

But I want to respect what DK asked.

No need to go there any longer.

Most people are finally starting to realize he is what he is.

Thanks.

I'm going to stay away until before the game tomorrow.

There is really nothing worth reading going on here.
