Don't make plans for tomorrow night. The one thing they told me before I had it done is that you'l be asleep 2 hours after the surgery. Truer words were never spoken.

He frequents a certain beach club during the summer that I spend some time at as well, so that's how I know.

he needs a good woman to whip him into shape

ok.. i guess they are in the playoff race despite him

That's my thinking as well. If they can get a good return to help address other needs it may serve them better in the long run if they can't "fix" Kane.

Yeah. I go in at 2:30. Figured I'd take a nap when I get home, watch tv and relax at home with my pup and then go to bed.

Hoping that when I wake up Friday morning I'm feeling good to go. Seems to be what most people say.

It's true, mostly because the meds where off. I remember waking up at 2 a.m. and sitting down to watch the recorded Sabres game sans glasses. Drove myself to the appointment the next morning. On funny moment from the next-day exam is seeing all of the other people that were also there for their followups. Everyone looks like they went 9 rounds the night before.

My exam the next day is at 8:30. Just wish it was closer to home, but oh well.

Coach Paul Maurice didn't provide a reason for why Evander Kane was a healthy scratch Tuesday night.

The most he revealed was: "Coaches decision not to be in the lineup tonight." The Winnipeg bench boss also declined to comment if Kane would be back in the fold for Friday's match against Chicago.

I had LASIK surgery in 2002 when I was stationed in Vegas. $600 for the procedure. Drove to a party that night. After about 10 years I had to get glasses again, but mainly for driving at night. Still pass the DMV eye test, but feel more comfortable driving with glasses. Best feeling though was waking up the next day and being able to see the alarm clock.

I can do that now. But that's because the numbers on my alarm clock are like 4 inches tall.

I think the only question would be the ridiculous return that Garf has going back.

Reports say that he was late to the rink. Maybe the cabs were over-booked.

I just saw this at Sportnet.ca. Is this true? Would it be actual money, cap hit or both?

"Hodgson will be 25 in February, relevant because players bought out before they turn 26 are owed one-third of their remaining monies instead of two-thirds. "

Per Elliott Friedman, Hodgson can be bought out for 1/3 of his salary.

Can buyouts only happen in the summer? If so then this has to happen. I was thinking that might give him some time next year to straighten it out but they can't miss this window.

I'll probably be in the minority here but I'd like to see how he looks on a competent roster. Perhaps on the wing with Mceichel.

i saw this a few weeks ago before capgeek went down. they had a program for determining buyouts based on buyout date. so essentially, if you wait til next year it will cost double against the cap. i dont think he fits the rebuild. at all. so options are:

1. trade him for anything but an equally bad cap dump coming back this way
2. buy him out after the season (and incur an $800,000 cap hit for 8 years)
3. let him play next year and hope he does something so you can move him
4. let him play next year, knowing full well you hes not in your future plans, watch him not play up to his contract again next year and buy him out for twice the hit.

im on board for 1 and/or 2.

Me too. There is no point in buying him out IMO. He has proven he can score at this level. Let him regain form and then trade him down the road.

If what was said is true, it's time to rid ourselves of Hodgson and his bad contract.

I don't know how much more you need to see. The guy is who he is. He put up a few points playing behind the Sedins and he put up a few points playing on the pp here. Soft, can't skate and can't play defense. The best-case scenario is that he looks good for a while and then we flip him. Why take that chance? No thanks.

He's a floater and a turd. A competent team already walked away and we're seeing why. Leino v2.0.

If we have a bigger team (Murray style team) I too think Hodgson will be alright. If he was bought out, that would be mainly to sign another player? We can't keep paying guys to leave, save some money for guys to come here! (lol, I know Pegula has money, but just throwing it away does not make sense)

Basically, it would be $5.7M to buyout this summer (at 1/3 contact left) and $12.7 to pay for one season and then buyout (at 2/3 remaining contract). So double, basically if we buyout next year (and not this summer). If we really want him gone, that would be the time to do it, but I am still not sure it is the correct thing to do.

I feel like his numbers this year are an outlier of sorts. Like I get that he's not going to be top 10 pick material as advertised but at the same time I agree he can score at this level and perhaps under better conditions he could be solid winger.
