Haha, its an uneasy feeling. We always seem to go off the board a little in the 1st over the past few years. Morin was a big one. Laughton surprised too. Coots was free falling when we grabbed him.

If I were to offer Flyer fans the option of having Lucic or Jaden Schwartz, almost all of them would take Lucic.

I wouldn't say off the board as in way too early, but they have surprised with some selections. I think people were a little surprised with Giroux, Morin, Laughton all be selected as high as they were.

They've built up such credibility in the first round that I think most analysts just trust that the player will be good.

I'm wondering why it's so hard to believe that there might be potential in this still very young player? Last season he had a pretty good season at 22 years of age. I've seen a lot of him. I've given my opinion and some of the know it all's who seem to think he sucks are comparing him to players he's nothing like. Kassian comparable to Bellemare? That's like comparing Wayne Simmonds to Jonathan Toews.

I haven't read back but I'm unsure why Jaden Schwartz and Milan Lucic asked as to why we would want one or the other. They are two very different players. I'll admit that I didn't know much about Jaden Schwartz until he scored on us shorthanded last season. For me, it always comes down to what players fills the need of this team.

I'm actually happy about that. I don't see how it can be any worse than NBC throwing Roenick, Milbury and Pierre down our throats.

It could help grow the sport too. The games will be exciting. It may bring in a new audience.
