How many GMs say that about their star players. Yes Luongo was only a gem , since he has been here.

Yep.

You know what pissed me off about Luongo? Nothing was his fault. I can remember the team playing like poop and lu throwing them under the bus countless times. Yet when he played like garbage in back to back series against the hawks everybody was supposed to be quiet.

You're right . Most owners fly down personally to their goalies house to calm them down when the back up or starter gets traded. Then the GMs usually threaten their stars to play and shut up or they won't get paid publicly.

I know everyone here doesn't believ Botchford but , he too who has no obligation to the club has come out and said he personally seen Luongo veto a trade with Toronto at the draft .

Exactly...Gillis is easy(for me at least) to see through. He knows people are not going to take a second and think about why Gillis chooses to say this stuff to the public.

Agreed, hell even having no captain and just 3 alternates would have been better... Luongo clearly isn't the toughest guy mentally either when he and/or the team was struggling so that was not a good decision. Willie Mitchell was the guy who was captain material on that team IMO.
