If half of that happens, good job Benning.

If we move Burrows, I can see us retaining some salary.

Thought it was strange that McKenzie and Dreger both think we are still in the market for help on defence. I feel better with Hamhuis in the lineup than Bieksa. Especially now since we have Clendening, another righty.

I think Hoffman isn't going to happen in a trade with Ottawa.

Wondering when we are going to trade Hansen to Winnipeg?

I think Carol is right that Chiasson is the more likely target. Similar age, similar situation with healthy scratches, however his lack of career GP make his unknown a little greater. I think people are starting to see/know what Kassian will deliver, Chiasson still has people looking at his potential

it would be Lack that's is traded not, Markstrom... TL & JB are no longer interested in trading Markstrom, they think he is just a late bloomer ala Ben Bishop
- GloveHandStrong

Ya I think it will be Lack too.

Hansen - Higgins - Richardson - Burrows - Kassian - Weber - Stanton hopefully are all being shopped too...

I would love if we had Elder Hamhuis Clendenning down the left. Tanev Boychuck COrrado down the right for next year.

Lack or Markstrom, makes no diff. in my eyes, despite what has been said by JB, I am sure whoever can fetch the most or close the deal will go.

I just want to see more grit, speed and finish in the lineup. But patience is the word.

When I see COrrado, I think #4 Bobby Orr...

just the fact that we think this guy is going to help us means we really suck. After watching the minny game. I just kinda of lost any form of optimism - we are so slow and there are too many guys that can't pass or shoot. Like really can't shoot to hit the net or pass on the tape.

There is only so many times you can watch that and not drink another.

I have always felt that, especially the passing part. I remember some years ago a clip of a Canucks practice where Bowness is ripping into the dmen for not being able to pass the puck. I still see it from a lot of the players, passing it into the skates...

Give Clendening a chance. I'd rather see him in the lineup than Weber or Stanton... we have to have some patience with the youth if there is going to be any sort of retool/rebuild... have to get used to it.

It is a lot easier watching young guys make mistakes than old guys.

The fact is I have no opinion on Clendening. I didn't notice him much, so that is good

Not great defensively, he was out of position a few times during the game. That being said, he can quickly move the puck into soft areas. Ferraro has said on numerous occasions that teams that can move the puck quickly, can overcome speed woes. I noticed he was making quick decisions with the puck, and his movements along the blue line are pretty good. Hopefully he can be our "Vatanen".

He also made this slick slap pass play to burrows that narrowly missed the top of the net. We haven't seen plays like that since the Vigneult days, so I'm excited to see what his ceiling is.

I just want to see some scoring added. Real true scoring. I think the last time we added that was Mats Sundin.

Gillis was always afraid to trade away any future for anything proven. I would like to see Benning make a move for some proven scoring. I know it's not easy, and I know you probably have to overpay, but we've been watching the Sedins (and whomever they play with) carry the load for too long now ... and they're tired. They can't bring it every night like they used to. Nothing against them, just life.

For the record, I do like Benning's moves so far, and nobody is really making trades so far so easier said than done ... but I fear we are going to fall out if we wait till trade deadline. Worst nightmare is seeing the shames pass us already, very early into their committed rebuild.

silver linings...

We are old and slow, we have to go with some youth with inexperience and expect some growing pains. we can't acquire established top6 guys we need with our limited assets and ntc's on players we need to move... it will take some time but patience isn't easy for this fanbase, me included.

Okay, now that I have opened up, who is next...

Scoring? Vrbata first time in a long time we have acquired someone with a little finish.

Tickets for tonight's game are 50% off at the box office if you have a student card; even cheaper on stub hub. This city for some reason can't support a average team; its a shame really.

The biggest problem is the Miller signing. Just makes us mediocre good, but doesn't allow us to be flexible. While we are in purgatory the flame fan is smug. Nothing worse than that. Other than oiler fans talking next year

If we had an average team we would support them. We have a bunch of old guys that can't score , don't shoot, don't hit. I would rather stay home and watch the Bachelor with Scooby and his wife

Wasn't a fan of the Miller signing when it happened, not disappointed with his play though. It is not his fault he can't score.

More moves are needed and I think ownership/management are afraid if the team doesn't make the playoffs, they will start losing money.
