I think the actual tweet should have been " If canucks don't start selling out again then we will bring back Santorelli" |

And retire early - VANTEL
I think they deserve to retire Canucks. Get traded to a team with a chance to get a cup(which they also deserve to win) and then when hits UFA sign a cheap deal so can retire with us. |

I just found out Santarelli is 29 years old
I thought the guy was like 26.
The fact that he is that old makes this trade even more idiotic.

He's gone into Tort's "F it" mode from last year a bit earlier in the season |

I've said it before and I'll say it again - only two choices exist:
1) Sedins retire (in the next couple of years) or
2) Sedins return to Sweden to play and also be with their families.
3) No other choice.

or
4) Eat 8 million in cap in the final year of their contracts and trade them to a contender for 1st rounders.

No deal - I guarantee (yes guarantee) the Sedins will never go to another team. Again, the only choices are as mentioned above (and just to add, they deserve whatever they want to do - they've been (and still are in my opinion) incredible players and fantastic ambassadors for the game and Canucks in particular |

I don't think there is much wrong with what he is saying and who he is saying it to...
Bottom dwelling team, everyone knows they are in a rebuild and aren't going to be doing anything this season. Easy to start mailing it in.
It is like telling his players they are playing for a contract and showcasing their abilities. Don't give up! Play well and get noticed for playing the right way.

Well, I certainly like your interpretation better, Hillbilly! I can appreciate there is a different way of looking at things. I just don't think it's a good message, though. I can understand trying to light a fire under the players in order to get a better effort but the latter part of the message (especially for younger and more impressionable players) it's just not something they should hear from their head coach. Just my .02 of course
Of course if it works out then you and Nolan will be officially anointed hockey geniuses! |

Solid player, but it makes no sense. Benning kinda (frank)ed up in not re-signing him(he wanted more than 1 year and the Canucks gave up after the Bonino/Vey moves). |

I just though it was funny of Nolan. It was funnier when he told some players they could go across the border and play for the Leafs if they played well enough and there was 4 Leaf scouts in the building. 6 members of the teEm immediately came down with the Flu including Coho |

I appreciate your view and value your input... but this is Tuesday and you have to let your inner zen have some say...
Maybe he should be saying this behind closed doors and not to the media, but in this day and age, who knows how long it would be before a player repeated it to a reporter or friend and it comes out anyway?
It might be dangerous with some of their players, especially the young ones, like you are saying. But I think the message is to be professional and play hard. They have a few guys about to become ufa's in Stewart, Stafford, Mitchell, Kaleta, Ellis, Meszaros, Benoit and Strachan and a few guys that will be rfa. They are all playing for contracts.
and then you have the guys signed long term like Hodgson, who they are already trying to send a message to...
I think Nolan is trying to save his own job too, Trying to get the most out of these players and get their attention. Maybe they are tuning him out. |

Is this true? That's actually (frank)ing hilarious.
Nolan is in a lose-lose situation, he needed his goalies to stand on their head and to get some wins early to have a decent/surprise season(kinda like CGY). Now that he didn't get that he knows he's (frank)ed. |

Nonsense. The last thing the Canucks need to do is acquire another 3rd or 4th line centre. I say poppycock! |

And it makes Benning look kinda stupid, since he didn't want to give him multi-year contract in the first place. Starting to really question this management/coaching for the first time with how Kassian's being scratched after two decent games and now apparent interest in trading for a guy they just let walk and is a 29 year old pending UFA....
I don't think LeBrun makes poop up. |
