If the team were to land a big forward via trade I think I'd sooner go for a play making winger with some sniping ability for Coots. Our top line regardless of who plays with G and Jake is one of the absolute hottest in hockey. They can't be on the ice at all times though so I'd like to see a more offensively dangerous 2nd line if possible. - hereticpride
I agree 100%. The flyers need to get better at 5v5 as well as get a more productive 2nd line.
Exactly. If we got Evander Kane (take significant assets to do so despite his shortcomings), it'd be to fill the hole at left wing on the top line.. It'd be out of sight. - Hextall271
In my opinion, there really isn't a hole at left wing on the top line. Flyers can put a guy like Raffle there, to compliment Giroux and Voracek, and it would be one of the top lines in the league. The hole is on the 2nd line. They need a player to put there to make that line a consistent scoring threat. Any forward I'd trade for is with that 2nd line in mind.

That's why I think Kane would look nice on the 2nd line with Couturier. Also kane isn't terrible in his own end so if you play him with Couturier you still have a defensivly solid line as well. Also his speed would be nice on the wing with a center that is not as fst as Couturier.
Bill, do you see Cousins' best shot at sticking in the NHL as a 4th line center, or do you think the top-9 (or higher) is feasible? - jmatchett383
One thing i noticed is Cousins must have some of the best one liners on the ice. Games i have watched he can seem to make a little comment going by someone and next thing you know the guy is spearing him or trying to get at him.

He would look nice, but I would bet the price would be too high to consider.

Kane would be perfect for us and if they want B schenn in the deal, i'd do it. Our top 6 would be fantastic and i'm sure our PP would improve as well. Say if we do trade schenn in the deal:
Raffl-G-Jake
Kane-Couts-Simmonds
Or even swap Kane and Raffl. Our first line would be bonkers with Kane but as someone mentioned it would be great to have two extremely solid lines
I don't know exactly what it would cost. I was more or less expressing that I think Kane and Kassian bring elements I like that the Flyers could use. - J35Bacher
I honestly don't get the fascination with Kassian.
I saw the Jets scratched Kane. Kassian seems like the odd man out in Vancouver. I wonder what cost for these guys would be as I think both bring elements the Flyers could use moving forward. - J35Bacher
I like Kane. I'm just meh on Kassian.
I can't even imagine what the Jets would want for Kane that the Flyers could give them.
I feel in the right situation he could be valuable. He has skill and can play an edgy game. I feel he has same skill sets as Marroon and Beleksy. Those guys get used with Getzlaf and Perry routinely. I think in Buffalo and Vanoucver they limit him to bottom 6 rolls all the time. He had good games playing with the Sedins. Just didn't capitalize enough to stay there.

I could pot some goals playing with the Sedin's. Just go to the net with your stick on the ice and they'll go in.
He's a bottom-6 player who is basically Rinaldo with an ounce of offensive talent. I'd rather not trade for other teams' healthy scratches.
