Regardless of the assets we move, $1.75M for 4 points in 26 games and a healthy scratch is not doing it for me. - jmatchett383
14 goals and 29 points in 73 games last year. That would be nice 4th line production. He's only on a 2 year deal so it wouldn't be breaking the bank to give him a shot at being a better version of Rinaldo. |

Oh believe me, I would never date a puck bunny. I never want to be that close to the players. - NickTheKid87
I knew (never dated) a girl who claimed to have been with Sam Gagner and another guy from the 2007 draft (Couture, maybe). I mean, good for those dudes, but not something I'd brag about if I were her. |

Yes, if our 4th line consists of the Sedin twins, we'll get nice production out of him. |

Giroux and Voracek look plenty alike for this to work.
Kassian's most common linemates last year were Brad Richardson and David Booth. So 28 ES points isn't bad over the entire season. He would be a low risk-medium reward candidate and I would prefer him to Rinaldo. I'm not going all out to get him though. |

I'd prefer a slice of moldy cheese to Rinaldo. Based on Rinaldo's playing time, the cheese would leave us shorthanded less often.
I think David Booth, even post-Richards hit, is far better than what we could offer on the 4th line. I just don't think it's worth it for his production this year, and I can't see why there's all this hype around him. |

I don't get the hype at all. Giving up Read for him as was being discussed yesterday was a little out there for me. I'll I'm saying is that I wouldn't be 100% opposed to acquiring him. Honestly, though, I would never have brought him up as a player to acquire if someone else already hadn't. I don't really care about Kassian. |

I cannot believe Voracek will enter Thursday still the lead point getter in the league after such a long break. I thought one of Kane or Seguin were bound to pass him this week. |

Same here. I'd like to see him have a nice little run of multi-point games. No Flyer has ever won the Art Ross, I'd love to see that end. |

Is this what most of you think? When some of us saying we like a guy like Zack Kassian, that we're looking for a top winger for Giroux? I don't know about anyone else but I've already compared him to a much bigger Steve Downie, whi clarifies his spot on any team (in my mind). To me Kassian has actual hockey player skill sets and his toughness forces guys like Rinaldo or Rosehill out of the line up. Zack Kassian is still young at 23 years old. What's the difference between developing him and developing a guy like Brayden Schenn who's still taking steps even today. I don't know why you assume Kassian was ever seeing time with the Sedin twins. |

No question. Watching Voracek and Giroux this season make a run for the Art Ross or even the Hart is what's kept me interested this season. I'd like to see Simmonds break 30 also. |

No, someone had mentioned that he played/would play well with the Sedin's. That's why I said, "If our 4th line has the Sedin twins..." I don't think anyone realistically sees him as a top-line winger to play consistently with Giroux and Voracek.
Edit: Here it is:
He has skill and can play an edgy game. I feel he has same skill sets as Marroon and Beleksy. Those guys get used with Getzlaf and Perry routinely. I think in Buffalo and Vanoucver they limit him to bottom 6 rolls all the time. He had good games playing with the Sedins. Just didn't capitalize enough to stay there. - J35Bacher
I don't want him playing on a top line, at least not regularly. |

$1.75M cap hit for next year for 4 points in 26 games? No thank you. Dude had one good year and that's it. - jmatchett383
Wasn't aware of his contract. Even more reason not to have interest. Here is my final offer. Lecavalier for Kassian straight up. |

I just think Kassian is comparable to Bickell, Marroon, Beleksy. They might not be sexy but they can play valuable rolls on a team. And at 24 he is young enough to still develop his game - J35Bacher
He's a 4th line player with a cap hit of 1.75M. |

I figured Crosby would have the lead by now but he is in the middle of the worst offensive season of his career by a long shot. He's only 6 points behind Jake and has missed a few games but his points per game are way down. |

He's a 4th line player with a cap hit of 1.75M. - MJL
A deal worth 1.75M for a young player who I believe hasn't reached his full potential doesn't bother me. Heck, Matt Carle hadn't reached his peak when we brought him in with a 3 million dollar cap hit. While I think it's premature to believe Zack Kassian will become the next Wayne Simmonds or Milan Lucic, maybe Wayne Simmonds situation with the LA Kings is comparable. Simmonds was asecond or third line player without Power Play time until he came here. I'm not offering him PP time but more so a suitable role with this team. When I look at the Vancouver Canucks, I don't see very many physical guys within their line up and believe the Canucks brought Kassian in to be their single most physical presence up front. Kind of a square peg, round hole situation.
If you guys don't like the guy, that's fine, I'm not asking anyone to. Some are accused certain players out as being cowards and not being an overly tough team is apparent. I just feel Zack Kassian forced Zac Rinaldo out of this line up, while chipping in offensively when put in the right situation.
By the way, what were we paying Max Talbot and Wayne Simmonds when we first signed both players? |

I believe the Pens have taken a step back. A large step back. Still a playoff team but not much scoring outside of Crosby, Malkin and Kunitz. |

No thanks. The Flyers have enough discipline problems on the current roster and historically. |

Talbot signed a 5-year deal worth $1.8M per year after putting up 3 years of 10+ goals and 4 years of 20+ points.
Simmonds signed a 2-year deal worth $1.75 per year after putting up 16 and 14 goals and 40 and 30 points, respectively, in his 2 years prior to signing.
FWIW, most people applauded the Simmonds deal and most people thought that Talbot was overpaid. |

Hornqvist has 14 goals and 30 points in 37 games, he just can't stay healthy.
Overall, they're 11th in G/GP, and were 9th in G/GP in 08/09 when they won their Cup. I think they're doing just fine. |
