The hilarity of the brazen passion
for spare part winger Zachary Kassian

And know that hope on the horizon glows
But not with Kassian, who invariably blows.

So, in make believe land:
The Flyers have not signed VL, and have ~$5M extra in space.
LA uses a CBO on Richards, who expresses an interest in coming back to Philly.
What do you offer him contract-wise, if anything at all.

I wonder if there would be any way to make a big splash. Something where you were able to get Kane and Bogosian. Maybe move 20161st rounder, Coburn, Read and say Hagg.

I don't know.

Kane has the "attitude" issues, and personally it is fairly alarming that while the vast majority of the Jets improved under Maurice, and the team as a whole has played better this season, Kane hasn't really taken that step.

I want nothing to do with Bogosian. Far too injury prone. I think the cost for both men would be too high anyway.

He might just need a change of scenery. The Winnipeg media is vicious when it comes to him, especially Gary Lawless(who seems to be a very bitter and ignorant hack). I do think Kane would be a monster here, and that the Flyers generally seem to do pretty good in getting guys who were considered to have bad attitudes else where to turn over a new leaf.

The lone concern is price. Winnipeg is gonna want a lot for Kane

Not stating that I want the Flyers to go after Kane, but Tyler Seguin supposedly had "attitude" issues also.

Kane was actually getting high praise earlier this year due to his dedication to being a two way player.

I'm still only taking him at a cheap price or with Winnipeg taking some garbage back. I think he would improve the team, sure but I'd rather utilize our assets differently.

The thing to me is, he knows the media is out to get him so to speak. He always fuels the fire. This isn't the first time he has been a healthy scratch for apparent "attitude issues".

The media in Philadelphia imo is no better, and probably worse. All can has to do is shut up and play. He pokes the bear. Just my take anyway. Agree on the cost, Jets would want offense that could help now, as the team is pushing out of a rebuild phase. It would probably start with Couturier.

Both men are 23.

I just have a thing against these bad apples so to speak. Don't like the risk. Works out sometimes but meh.

If he were here the media wouldn't hound him so long as he stays out of trouble. He is the face of that Jets team and is very much under a microscope. Philly media rarely gets on anyone from the Flyers roster other than the Captain and goalie.

Price is not the only concern. If you make the investment to acquire Kane, which player are you getting? If he doesn't score at the level expected, then you have a problem.

The funny thing was when reports came out that the media or fans were on his ass because he is black. Yeah..

Kid is an immature goof. Doesn't have to be the altar boy that is Sean Couturier, but needs to sack up a little.

I think a lot of the venom is specifically directed at Kane there and he gets upset at it. He comes to the Flyers and he's not going to be the focal point. As bad as the Flyers media can be, there's not likely to be any kind of bias that hints at racial attitudes-not necessarily calling a guy like Lawless a racist, but I went out of my way to read his archives and he shreds Kane and Byfuglien at every opportunity, while praising other players, who are just as culpable for the team's struggles-and there's also no where near as much focus here on the Flyers as there is in Winnipeg on the Jets.

Again, the cost is where the trouble lies. I'd be real hesitant to move Couturier, but would definitely be open to a package that included either or both Schenns or say Coburn for Kane and another player.

As much as I'd like to add Kane, he's not a primary need for the Flyers and as such, I'd be unwilling to trade a huge pile of assets for him. He has skill and ability and potential, but he's also had his struggles. This isn't trading for a guy like Ryan or Kessel, who have question marks, but who have been consistent producers.

Kanes contract complicates things. Only deal I can think of is Kane + two 2nds for Coburn and Schenn.
