I'm willing to bet a B schenn and cap dump for Kane would help both teams - Winning
That's exactly why I say price is the only concern. If it was Brayden Schenn as the centerpiece, you're dealing gone inconsistent young guy for another.
If it was something like the Schenn brothers and Coburn, I'd want more from the Jets than just Kane. Love or hate Coburn, he's a lot more proven than either Schenn or Kane and could step in and be a huge asset for the Jets, playing with Byfuglien or Enstrom, and I'd want a nice return for that.
Despite Kane's 30 goal scorer potential, he hasn't do it enough to say he's money in the bank. |

BSchenn+ for Kane is a deal I would be fine with. Depends what you can dump on the Jets to get the numbers to work tho. And that + is definitely not a 1st or high level prospect. |

Kanes contract complicates things. Only deal I can think of is Kane + two 2nds for Coburn and Schenn. - PhillySportsGuy
Not to be a downer but the Jets would be looking for immediate help on offense. The strength of that team is D, and with Comrie in the wings ready to push Hutch there is no need to bring in goaltending either.
I don't see the need for Coburn there, where I am not really sure he ranks above any of the top 4 anyway. Luke Schenn is an overpaid 3rd pairing d-man.
As for Brayden, his value falls lower than Evander Kane. Hence why I said I think it starts with Couturier. Jets need center ice men. |

It IS a bit of an issue, but it's not a major stumbling block, if Winnipeg accepted a contract in return. Not necessarily a dump, but a guy with a fairly significant deal. |

I think a change of scenery will help Evander. |

Couturier is already a better player than Kane. Playoff teams always need depth on defense. Schenn is also scoring at a higher pace than Kane this year plus he's more versatile. |

With them being healthy now and with Chiarot's emergence, doubt they'd really be interested in Coburn (or Luke Schenn, for that matter). |

Winnipeg's GM should feel pressure to make a move to bolster their NHL roster to make the playoffs, he's hesitated every year to do something. Now is the time before he's no longer their GM and regretting not making a move to make a run. |

What's the deal with this whole Kane thing? Is there anything to report or any significant rumors out there or is all this talk just based off his being a healthy scratch last night? |

I think Evander has a much higher trade value than Brayden.
Coburn.. Well.. To be honest I have no idea what his value is, and again if the Jets are trading Evander, they imo will want offense back. That's the weakness of the team. I also don't think picks will be super attractive to a team that is coming out of a rebuild. They want immediate help. |

He just favorited a tweet saying Hextall should trade for him for starters... |

It isn't the only concern. One inconsistent young guy has a cap hit of 2.5M. The other inconsistent young guy has a cap hit of 5.25M

Bobby Ryan re-born.
Almost as bad as the last hobbit movie. |

I do wonder how much pressure is on Cheveldayoff to make the playoffs this season. Holmgren was able to use the pressure Don waddell was under in Atlanta to make the Zhitnik for Coburn deal in 2007. Maybe Hextall can do the same to Chevy?

Getting Coburn could free them up to move a guy like Bogo for more offense though. Just not sure who else they'd want that would even out cap hits. Only other guy I can think is Read and I'm just not sure it's a good idea to trade two current forwards to strengthen a top line thats already one of the best in hockey. |

If they crumble the pressure will come. Team is on a bit of a slide lately.
Whatever happens, and I could see him fired, I will give the dude a bit of credit. He added a nice supply of young talent by drafting well and has kept the old core around to not throw the kids into the fire.
As Atlanta's Thrashers are weeded out due to age and decline, the new core steps in. Long process, but better than (frank)ing the kids over like Edmonton or panic trades to make the playoffs at any cost.
Maurice was a good hire. |

That's what I was thinking. Also, the hobbit trilogy probably should have been one film. I stopped watching the first one after an hour long dwarf sing-a-long while cleaning the dishes |

Bingo.
Get me a winger with skill for Coots and Simmonds. The first line can't play every minute. |

Liked the first the best. Same as I did the fellowship. More character development, and an organic feel.
More CGI porn in the later hobbit movies made it feel like a video game. |

He's been patient, but ownership may decide he needs to get into the playoffs.
He's done a great job of building the system. The Jets depth of prospects is the envy of the league. They have a ton of good prospects on hand. |

Well, at least it's over. Maybe someone will make a movie based on a new idea for once. Seems like there is an over abundance of sequels and trilogies the last few years. Though I am looking forward to the new Star Wars movie... |
