one of the equipment makers released a type of broom head with bi-directional fabric which enables the sweepers depending on how they sweep to slow down, speed up and even almost steer the rocks.

Some top curlers say it's taking the essential skills of aim and weight control out of the game or at least greatly diminishing them.

problem is there's actually very little regulation as to the brooms used to curlers are taking a stand and making gentlemen's agreements not to use them against each other but they can't impose it on some teams who do it anyway.

It's all very shocking and now the manufacturers who were struggling to keep up with the innovations don't know what to do.
