It turns out Stephanie Schmidt was added to team Saskatchewan at the last second when Sherri Singler injured herself while slipping on an ice patch in front of her house.

I guarantee this seemingly benign "slip" was in fact the outcome of a dark and elaborate ruse hatched by a team she had either betrayed or been betrayed by prior to this tournament.
