the early ovi-crosby rivalry was just what the doctor ordered for the nhl coming off that lockout.
Edit: 52 goals, when you compare to what gets you a calder these days... |

Hypothetical Fantasy land.
Buffalo Offers the #1 overall and both other firsts for Crosby do they do it?
Does Buffalo do it? - ImThatGuy
Nice question. I wouldn't trade the #1 for Crosby let alone the other two firsts. Crosby is the best player in the game but I'll take a gamble on an 18 year old that might be almost as good (or as good). I want to be good for a good long time. |

Agreed and I also want our own connection to a new NHL player. Crosby will always be a Penguin (in my thoughts). |

Also, you never know if Crosby's concussion issues will ever come back again.

I have a feeling we won't be able to move every FA, but that's my opinion. |

How much does Kane on the block impact Drew and Stew's value? |

They might have trouble giving Benoit away for free. Can we only hold back salary on 2 players? If so we might have a problem moving Meszaros (I assume we hold salary on Staff and Stewart to increase the return for them). |

I think the big name ufa's (if you can really call them that) will be moved but the lower end guys who have minimal to no value will probably just see the year out and walk on july 1. |

There are like 6 guys and at some point, taking a 5th rounder for Mezzaros (or whomever) does not make sense.
I hope he can dump all UFA even if to pick up other UFA / RFA that we may want to resign. |

I believe it's 3. By the end of last year, I'm pretty sure we were holding parts of Vanek, Miller and Pommer's salaries. |

Not much. Stafford and Stewart are rentals to most teams. Kane is under contract and much younger. It shouldn't hurt their value. In fact it could help their value. There could be a bidding war to say for them since they are pending UFA's. It could include more or better draft picks. Or having to give up a better prospect with a pick since more teams will be calling on them when they don't want to give up anything of significance for E. Kane if that makes any sense. |

According to Darren Pang, McDavid belongs with the Oilers and according to Kypreos, McDaivd belongs with the Leafs, he said that is where the NHL wants him, in Toronto.
The question was asked to both guys " which Canadien team should get McDavid"
Pang also said" The Oilers are last in the league, they get McDavid " Someone should explain to Pang how the standings work, the Sabres hold last place.
I can't wait to hear everyone in the league including all these Canadiens complain when and if we get McDavid. |

He was offerd a pick before for Mez from the Jets and Ducks, he said no. Maybe at the time it was too soon to take a pick in the 5th round or so. |

Really none. Once the player is traded (Kane, if he is) the others value will shoot right back up. |
