We know that Hextall signed Schultz to be a depth 6/7 defenseman at most. And he only signed Del Zotto when he learned that Timonen would be out. If Hextall knew that Del Zotto could play at this level for most of the season, he would've signed him sooner. Not to mention the rest of the League that passed on Del Zotto as he was still sitting waiting for a job in August. - MJL
Hextall said he had his eye on MDZ, but there was no cap space till Kimmo got sick.

My old roommate was like you and hated mayo with a passion. I remember going out to eat with him and he ordered a turkey club dry. He didn't emphasize dry enough though. He just said dry right after turkey club. When he got his sandwich, it had a huge glob of mayo under the lettuce so He didn't notice it. I saw it right away, but decided to watch things unfold instead of being a good friend. He ran to the bathroom and threw up.
Just watching his face when he bit down and the mayo seeped out the sides of the sandwich was priceless. |

Evander Kane failed to show up in time for Winnipeg’s game in Vancouver earlier this week following an incident with Dustin Byfuglien and other teammates, Sportsnet has learned.
It was previously believed the Jets had made Kane a scratch for the game in his hometown. Following the 3-2 overtime loss on Tuesday, Paul Maurice termed it a “coach’s decision.”
However, multiple sources familiar with the situation have since indicated that Kane was not on the team’s bus to Rogers Arena and then missed a pre-game meeting. Repeated attempts to reach him were unsuccessful until approximately an hour before puck drop, when Kane answered his cellphone and said he wouldn’t be playing against the Canucks that night.
Earlier in the day, the 23-year-old winger is said to have had a run-in with teammates.
Kane wore a track suit when the Jets players gathered that morning — a violation of team policy. Following a brief workout and stretch, Byfuglien is said to have thrown those clothes into the shower to send a message to his teammate, according to sources.
That was the last the Winnipeg players saw of Kane until the team’s charter flight home.
The Jets organization has been extremely tight-lipped about why Kane missed the game. Further clouding the issue is the belief the player has been dealing with an unspecified injury all year, one that could eventually require season-ending surgery.
He did not participate in Thursday’s practice at MTS Centre and Maurice told reporters afterwards that he was meeting with team doctors.
Winnipeg is currently clinging to a wild-card spot in the Western Conference. It has lost five-straight games heading into Friday’s matchup with Chicago |

I think Bogosians contract is less of a cap hit than Macdonalds and he is only 24

Schenns for Kane - MBFlyerfan
If they're just dumping the guy, maybe we can keep Baby Schenn and Fat Schenn (whose contract actually will come up sooner rather than later....he's also righthanded, which will probably keep in the league longer than it should) and see if they would take one Andrew MacDonald.
MacDonald will be the good citizen Winnipeg is looking for!

I would do that in a cocaine heartbeat. I would take a 5th round pick for MacDonald just to be rid of his contract. |

Well, yes, if we're trading AMac for him straight up. The Schenn's + Coburn deal doesn't include him, though. |

I'd take a chance on him, but I wouldn't trade any of our young quality assets for him, which is likely what Winnipeg wants. |

I think if Hextall thought that Del Zotto was going to be a 20-25 minute a game player who will play as well as he has lately all season, he would've made some kind of move to sign him a lot earlier. He had interest, but wasn't willing to trade anybody to make room last Summer. |

I'm already a believer. I know this team can do it. It's just a matter of if they can play as a team. I've been saying it all season, when they play as ONE UNIT, they can beat any team in the league. Sure our d is bad- I'd take our d over the avs, stars, isles, and leafs defense though. It's gonna be extremely challenging to get to the post season, but I really think they can do it. Maybe it's just wishful thinking idk. - benjichronic
Not making the playoffs is always an embarrassment by my standards. The LA Kings never had to suck to get where they are, at least not the way the Hawks and Pens have. Not the Red Wings either. Let's keep playing, keep winning and let the pieces fall where they may. |

I don't blame you, because I'd do the same thing if it were my friend.
That said, I'd probably overreact and throw a fit at the restaurant. |
