The whole team did suck. There really were not many skaters who stood out, outside of the 4th line.
Looking at the shift chart, Giroux & Voracek actually spent time with all three pairs-most of the early going with Grossmann & MacDonald, then with Schultz and Streit. They had MDZ and MacDonald early in the second, but had several shifts with Grossmann and Schenn. In the third, Giroux barely had any shifts with Del Zotto. - Jsaquella
The defenseman Giroux played with the most in the game was Del Zotto.

Streit: keep, but take offers. Someone could really overpay for what he's been bringing this year.
MDZ: keep.
Schultz: keep so long as the number and term isn't ridiculous.
AMac: He isnt moving.
Coburn: This should be our big ticket item this deadline. Can't give him away for peanuts though.
Schenn: keep for now.
Grossmann: Toss up for me.
Carlo: Sell for whatever you can get.
Kimmo: Sell. - hereticpride
I'd listen to offers for all of them. If I could turn Streit into a late 1st rounder, or a couple 2nds(especially if they were both top 40) I'd probably take it. Same for Coburn. Kimmo I'd definitely try to move for decent assets, not only to stockpile, but also to give him a shot at a Cup.
I'd be good with trading Schultz and then trying to re-sign him as a UFA, unless he's willing to give them a hometown discount to re-up before the TDL. If They could flip MDZ for a good return, I'd be happy to ship him off as well.

What if Kimmo doesn't want to go? Do you keep Coburn so you can see if,he gets his game on track? - AllInForFlyers
Wouldn't matter. The team would need to go on a massive winning streak once Kimmo comes back to even worry about how Coburn would play with Kimmo. The season is next to over for us. |

I miss Raffl on the top line. He seems to work much better with them than Schenn - PhillySportsGuy
If it's me, that is where Raffl goes and I would seriously consider Schenn-Couturier-Umberger and scratching Read
Hurt, not hurt, whatever. There just isn't anything happening with this player |

I know what goes on here every day, but I don't think that was relevant for tonight.
There was a lot of blame to go around tonight. I like numbers, but I know what I saw tonight, too - AllInForFlyers
I know what I saw also, a team as a whole that was thoroughly outplayed and was really only in the game due to Mason keeping them in it. I personally would only praise the 4th line and Mason. Shouldn't be scapegoating any players, in my opinion.

Got MDZ's ice time close, by any chance?

There is no way I'd trade Coburn for 2 2nd round picks. Odds are good that you could be trading Coburn for assets used to draft players that may never see the NHL, or become regular NHL players. |

Schenn is still very streaky, and not just in his production. He had a glorious chance tonight and failed to convert. |

Dallas can fly, and put up goals with the best of them. Trouble is they haven't been good defensively and and Lehtonen has struggled. |

I am just really torn on Coburn
It would be really nice if somehow, MDZ-Coburn could be a thing, but iirc, that was absolutely horrific earlier this year
Assets are nice. A top 3 defenseman under contract is better |

Just got his 18th of the year to put TB up 3-2 |

For me it boils down to a few things.
Coburn is good when paired with a solid partner. He's a guy that has been unable to be anchor a pair, though. He tries to do too much and then makes mistakes.
The thing is, the Flyers don't really have that guy to be his partner. Even if Timonen can return and play close to where he was last season, it's likely only to be for this season.
The other issue with Coburn is, he's due for a new contract after next season, and that means a raise. If it's going to push him into the $5.5mm or more range, I have to question if he's worth it, or would the Flyers be paying a premium for another guy who isn't a number one or who can even really be effectively a strong number 2 defenseman.
EDIT: It's like the MacDonald/Grossmann/Schenn situation. I just think they end up paying too much for what the guy is if he gets to a new contract. If Amac was making $3.5mm, I wouldn't complain at all about him. If Grossmann and Schenn were at $2mm each, again, it'd be difficult to really get mad.
Avoid it if you can.
I think he might have more value as a trade chip. |

I can't argue this -- I just keep waiting for Coburn to play well with somebody besides Timonen, but it just hasn't happened and I should know better
We don't have the guy to play with him, and they should find a team for him with the right assets who does

He did well with Grossmann the one season as a shut down pair, but they haven't been able to replicate that since. |
