If Hasek was so great, how come he didn't save Owen Nolan goal when he was pointing where he was shooting? |

I'm sorry, I thought we were weighing individual performance as a whole rather than team achievements. - BINGO!
The thing with Brodeur is everyone brings up all of his records but those are mostly just a result of the number of games played or team based stats. Pretty sure Brodeur also has the most career losses record too. |

They're all great goalies but being a Devils fan i'm biased towards Marty being the best. Hey he was so good at his game that the league had to add the trapezoid! Plus he has more goals that Roy and Hasek. |

The OHL added a "Ryan Murphy Rule" a couple years back too. |

He went to finals again too without "the defense of the 90's". He was still good when goalies like Turco and Dipietro faded because of trapezoid. |

TIM THOMAS IS BETTER GOALDENDER THAN BRODEUR BECAUSE HE SAVED MORE SHOTS IN SINGLE PLAYOFF YEAR AND FINAL ROUND. |

Yeah, but he is the all-time NHL leader in number of sister-in-law's banged as well as children who can refer to him as "uncle." |

1.a) Roy (second most wins in RS, most wins in PO, NHL record 3 Conn Smythes)
1.b) Hasek (2 Harts, 6 Vezinas, outperformed both Roy and Brodeur in the '90's)
3. Sawchuck (most wins in RS when he retired, first to have 100 shutouts, all while playing with toothpick-esque goalie pads)
4. Brodeur (most wins in RS, most shutouts, second most wins in PO, best at handling the puck) |

Cam Ward has a Conn Smythe trophy too. It doesn't always mean much in the grand scheme of things. - BINGO!
You can't count to 3?

2012 Stanley Cup playoffs:
Andy Greene, Anton Volchenkov, Mark Fayne, Bryce Salvador, Adam Larsson, Pete Harrold, Marek Zidlicky.
Marty definitely had a HOF defense in front of him for his last finals appearance.
And he definitely had a crop of superstud defensemen in front of him when he won Vezinas in 06-07 and 07-08.
His stat line in the 3 cup wins were certainly worthy of Conn Smythe consideration.
Not saying Brodeur was better, worse or the same as Hasek or Roy, but the excuses people make for Martys success are absolutely laughable.
He had success with HOF D in front of him, he had success without. He had success when the Devils played the trap, he had success when they didn't.

Besides Marty's three cups, four vezinas and two olympic golds, he broke just about every goaltending record during his career including most of the ones held by Roy. |

with all due respect to Brodeur and Roy, the answer is HASEK
Hasek
Roy
Brodeur
then maybe Joseph
Hasek was a phenomenal goalie, acrobatic as heck and played teams into the playoffs and almost won them the cup.
Roy was GREAT. Outstanding.
Brodeur had the benefits of playing under a great system. Clearly a GREAT goalie but he did benefit from the trap. |
