I think he's def getting traded
Sounds like his teammates are fed up with his antics. I can't see the Jets keeping him now that they're in a playoff race
Stafford/Stewart go there to replace him in the lineup
And we also send a prospect or two, and maybe a pick - jdfitz77
I would think it would be a bigger deal if all of that is involved. If there is a team issue, they may have to take "the best of what they can get" |

@NHL_rumor_mill: Nill also looking for a backup goalie to replace Lindback. Shown interest in Enroth/Neuvirth (BUF), Reimer (TOR), and Martin Jones (LA). |

Yeah, he's causing problems on many levels. Because now trading partners know the jets have their backs against the wall.
Low-ball city. I'd take him on waivers. Fk paying for a douche like that.

I suppose its tough to answer considering we don't really know Murray's true long-term plan. Nolan doesn't feel like a place-holder though. There's guys on our roster that have responded well to him - particularly our younger players. The softer skill guys like Hogdson and (ugh) Stafford, have been slumping because they obviously don't fit Nolan's system or philosophy. - Poopspawn
Also, Nolan being a "placeholder" doesn't seem like Pegula's style.
He's know to treat his employees VERY well, and he would not be ok with hiring a coach with the intent to fire him after a year.
Nolan will absolutely be back next season.
If the team doesn't improve, then we could see a move. |

Jones isn't going anywhere
Murray supposedly is asking for a 2nd for either goalie. (Forgot where I saw that)
I could see it getting done. I'd assume any team would rather have Enroth at this point, but Neuvirth prob has more talent & upside |

I'm sure when Murray talked contract with Nolan, he explained the situation. I'm quite sure they both have an "understanding." it may be different than what LaFontaine had in mind, but Teddy still signed. I wouldn't be surprised if Ted gets "fired" AKA:golden parachute/office job. or if he gets to coach an actual team in a year or two as a reward for this year.

Especially if his teammates are responding that way. The Jets have to take what they think is best value. I would give them Stafford. |

Plus Jones will be a lot harder to get. I'm surprised they didn't add Gibson in there as well.

I totally get where you're coming from.
I've been on the fence with him for a while now.
His antics are old & tiresome at this point for sure. I think the kid is just unhappy there & has been for a while now (hence the yearly rumors about him being traded).
I think a change of scenery works for him, so let me make a case for bringing him to Buffalo...
1) cost is way down apparently. U can't acquire talent like this very often.
2) at 23, he fits right into our rebuild
3) power forward style of play fits in perfect here. He'll look good on McDavid's wing next season IMO
4) signed for 3 more years
5) was moved down to their 3rd line to give them more balance, and supposedly hasn't complained & took the news well. Has been working hard.
The thing that really won me over though is this...
6) apparently playing with an injury where he could have surgery that would end his season... But... He's playing through it BC the Jets are finally in the playoff race & he doesn't wanna let the team down
For me, that shows signs that he's growing up
And BC the cost has now lowered, I'd def take the risk to bring in that kind of talent
I do understand why some wouldn't wanna take the risk though

Jhonas stats very comparable to Lehtonen's (adjusted for Buffasuck).
Lehtonen .905 2.93
Enroth .900 3.38
I'd take their second and run with it. Call Hackett back and keep Neuvirth fresh for next year. |

Right now we have a chance to acquire a young scoring winger and it wont cost us Myers. I am all for it. He has skills size and speed. He would look great playing on McEichel's wing for another 8 years. His attitude will change when he gets older. Look at the other Kane. If it takes paying someone to follow him around then do it. Patrick Kane doesn't wear a letter but man can he play hockey. So can Evander. |

He might not be the coach here 5 years from now, but theres no way Pegula would allow a guy to be hired if the intention was to fire him after 1 year.
He's the coach to start next year, no doubt in my mind.
Everyone knew we'd be bad this year.
I also could see him in the front office after his current deal is up. Seems like that's a graceful way to transfer the reigns over to whoever "Murray's guy" might be
I kinda thought that about Lindy though too |

So when they teased him before the game against a heated conference rival, separated by only a few points in the standings, he decided to stamp his foot, hold his breath and stay away from the arena for one game? That kind of not wanting to let his team down?? |
