Andrew Macdonald played like 26 mins a night for the islanders last year. Playing a lot of minutes on a bad team doesnt mean a defenseman is automatically elite.

I never said elite. His value is probably more to Buffalo than it is in trade.

He is IMO a young # 2-3 d man at a great cap hit.

Here's something interesting. Rumored for a few days Ducks were interested in Myers.

On a good team in the right system he'd be twice the player he is now. IMO he doesn't get moved. And I'm okay with that.

He would be tremendously better on a team like Anaheim where he would not be asked to do everything.

Then he won't be traded plain and simple. It's no secret that it will be an overpayment by any team to aquire myers or he will remain a sabre. Why is this so hard for people to understand. THEY DO NOT NEED TO TRADE HIM FOR THE SAKE OF TRADING HIM!!!

I really don't care who is wrong or who is right.

That's not what this is about at all.

It's a matter of opinion.

And I feel some of you over value him, and that's just this guys opinion.

That's not to say that some brain dead GM may indeed over pay for him however.

We're not really exactly debating his base worth to other teams. We're including the fact that Murray has NO reason to deal him. None. We have ALL the power, like He-Man. If teams want him, they NEED to overpay for him, because Murray has said many times that Myers is a valuable asset that he's not trying to move. With this knowledge, we try to predict the value returning as slightly above the perceived value of Myers to the Buffalo Sabres.

I just don't see TM moving him. Asking price is too high. Playoff teams generally won't have higher draft picks ( that Murray covets) and won't move a roster player on a playoff team. The only thing that would come back is prospects and it would have to be a LOT based on what rumor mills are saying about the asking price.

And remember, if he goes then we need another top 4 defenseman. He's not the 2nd coming of Denny Potvin but he has value.

Maybe, he seems to have played on every line this year for the ducks, it might not carry on this year but next year he could continue to produce if they had him with ennis and moulson or with mceichel.

You don't deserve heat, but I don't see the purpose of the Ducks dealing him and/or the Sabres wanting him for a high price. I mean, he's 26 so that's not terrible, but he's a UFA at the end of the season. If the Sabres can resign him, which would help our deficient LW depth, he'd be great for a 3rd. I'd hope we're not focusing on Belesky though.

Most garbage stat in hockey. All it tells you is that a team is bad unless you only have one or two players with a terrible +/-, and not even then does it tell the whole story. Our team corsi is -800 (something like that) and dropping. The fact that guys aren't lower than that is astonishing.
