That is an overpayment
I think you're naive if your truly believe every quote GMs give the media. - rangerdanger94
If Belesky and a 2nd is an overpayment the deal would have already been done.
But why would we use common sense here... |

So, because I disagree about a players value I am "trolling"?
C'mon man just stop.
I knew this would turn into this.
I'm far from trolling, just being honest is all.

Do people not understand this quote from Murray.
"I am not calling teams to take him. Its going to take an overpayment to move him" - ImThatGuy
To be fair though Guy, he may just be lobbing that meatball out there for the public.
I mean I can't say for sure either way, can you?

In fantasy hockey, when I get lobbed 'meatballs' like you can have Crosby for a huge overpayment, I either desperately need him or tell the guy to (frank) off. It's been the latter. So if Myers IS traded, it'll be the former. |

You cant either way, but IMO if what he said is not true would he not have been moved already for the "Best offer"?
Edit - i thought you called me tough guy, maybe i need that lasik more than i thought.......... |

One thing's for sure, I can't wait for this saga to pass. I actually want him to be traded just to see what his value is. |

Myers plays most minutes of any of those players and has the lowest +/- - ImThatGuy
That's not why I posted it.
Gorges and Stewart at -30 is wow.
Let me ask you an honest question.
I watched the defense and the pairings pretty hard last night against a very talented team that is very deep.
By far in my opinion the best pairing on the ice defensively was Strachan and Weber.
Not saying that they are great of course but I am just curious of your answer.

So what does it feel like? 75% change he is moved by the deadline and 85% chance he is moved before the draft? I know we are guessing but there is a TON of smoke. |

I started writing the exact same thing then changed my mind about posting it.
I don't want to see Myers traded as I think he has value to this team, both now and in the future.
However, I would love to see what he really is worth. Just to settle the debate. |

While watching this train wreck again last night I asked myself who coaches the Powerplay ?
Buffalo's Powerplay is possibly the worst I've ever seen...EVER.
Is it talent, coaching or both ?
Get Scott Arniel back here and he could fix a few problems on this tire fire. |

I agree. I like Myers a good deal but pairing him with Gorges isn't working. Since he is here, for the time being, I play him with Strachan. When Gorges first got hurt I thought Myers played well with him. Let Risto play with Weber. Gorges and Zadorov/Mezaros/Benoit.

I do not want a young goalie prospect in return. They dont hold much value in trades, IMO.
I would target pieces Ritchie, Vaatenen, 1st. (not saying all 3 for Myers) - ImThatGuy
i like that package. add on our end if we have to. there is no way that we can move our most bankable asset and have a goalie be the main piece coming back. |

I've been avoiding the Myers talk, but here goes.
To me Myers on a good team would be very valuable, somewhere as a 2-4 Dman. Obviously, this is not a good team right now, and Myers has shown he can't make a bad team good - for sure. But tbh, someone like Shea Weber (who is miles above Myers' skill set) would look far poorer on this team than he is, and as I said Myers isn't a guy that can do it all himself. Surrounding Weber with this team would make him look good to ok, on Myers he has flashes of "baby giraffe" out there.
At $5.5mm though, if Myers can get back to a 40+ point dman he would hold value for this team. He isn't paid like a Norris winner, and therefore we don't need to get rid of him for the sake of it. I would prefer we hold onto him and he either steps up (he's still 25) with more to work with or slides down a bit and becomes a major part of what should be almost unparalleled depth on the blueline for us.
Hat, I know you think he's poop, and on that I don't agree... nor do I agree that he's a perennial Norris candidate in the making. I just think there's no need to move him, and still think he can be something special on this team. |

I think so much of it is talent. Did you notice how many times the Blues were able to hit their man in the slot from behind the net? We've been an awful passing team for a long, long time.

This was thrown out n a different board...
Beleskey, Theodore, Gibson and conditional 2015 1st if the Ducks make it to the Conference finals (becomes a 2016 1st if not) for Myers and Neuvirth |
