As long as they keep pushing, I'm not too fussed if they miss the playoffs. At least the young guys will experience what it takes. But racing to the bottom is not the way to develop young players.

they can always cut their teeth in the AHL playoffs.... might be better for them since they'll play more prominent roles with the team (PP, SH, TOI) I doubt Horvat gets more than 10min in the NHL playoffs. AHL he would probably get 18-20min

Yup. Gotta stay competitive. This team can still be a playoff team over the next few years before the young guys take over as legit pieces to this team.

Dont wanna go too young too quick. Always good to have a mixture of Vets to mold the young guys.

Jeff Oneill (such a tool but..) I agreed with him yesterday when he said look at the jets roster and who there reminds you of the Stu Grimson and brad Mckrimmon from the days I played. Their is no genuine leader on Winnipeg and thats why What happened happened.

I don't think its a "good" team, but I sure as hell don't think they're as bad as Edmonton, Buffalo or Carolina - if you don't get the top three picks then you're really splitting hairs. That's what I mean.

I'd rather push for the playoffs and develop our young guys in a competitive environment.

Vey has 3 points, 11 shots in the last month and has been getting crushed possession wise.

Bonino Has 4 points and a 25 shots in the last month

Higgins has 3 points and 28 shots in the last month

Henrik has 12 points and 15 shots in the last month

Daniel has 11 and 44 shots in the last month

Vrbata has 9 points and 40 shots in the last month

Kane having surgery, out 4-6 and will miss the rest of the season.

Not a playoff team.

So they should be. We hope Virtanen can become the player that Kane is (without the drama). If they can acquire Kane without giving up Horvat, Virtanen or this year's 1st round pick then they should send everything else they have the Jets way. Likelihood of this happening, about the same as me winning the 6/49 (haven't bought a ticket in 10 years...)
