There goes Edlers game
- VANTEL

I hope not but I'm sure we'll all be keeping an eye on him to judge how much of Edler's improvement came from Tanev's Brinks truck defense.

If Jordan Subban makes the team in the future and sucks it's gonna be awkward making him the whipping boy...

If we are trading our tweeners we should be trading them for picks or prospects, not more of the same

Wow - the plot thickens on Kane.

Sportsnet is now reporting that he didn't show up for the game after fighting with teammates earlier in the day over the track suit!

Maybe if they would stop trying to make Kassian into Tod Bertuzzi, they might get a useable player out of him. That's been a major (frank) up of this team going back to the Nonis' days... trying to make something out of players that they are not or never have been.

Gillis made up a bunch of poop about what kind of player Kassian is and he's been expected to live up to that ever since.

I think general managers want Kassian to be the player he was in Junior. Take a look at his old scouting report:

The 6'3, 205-pound right winger is a power forward prospect. He has imposing size and has shown a willingness to use it. While he may not have as much offensive upside as other forwards at the top of the draft order, Kassian's total package of size, checking, and energetic play make him an appealing addition to a club looking for a top-six forward who can open up the ice for other teammates. An ability to put the puck in the net adds to his value as he has proven he won't be an offensive liability with more skilled teammates.

Kassian projects as an imposing power forward at the next level with good enough hands and hockey sense to potentially play on the second line someday. He uses his body effectively in the offensive zone and creates mismatches along the wall for opponents because of his strength. Kassian could ultimately end up anywhere from a fringe first liner to a scoring third liner depending on his development over the next few years.

It's time for him to live up to his potential.

Probably. He's been doing a better job this year of avoiding those big hits, in past years he'd take a big hit on the forecheck almost every other game.

Miller is gonna have a fun time playing behind this defense. Tanev has been our best d-man this year.

Wow! I was fine with trading for him before thinking he was just a guy who partied hard and was cocky. But anyone who stirs up poop in the locker room is a big problem for a hockey team.

Did you watch any of the Flames/Sharks last night? I looked up and noticed Thornton with the stick work on a smaller flame (didn't notice who). Reminded me of his smell my finger routine with Hank a couple years ago. Someone needs to punch him in gunt.

Didn't watch it. Sounds about right though. Would love to see someone actually challenge him to a fight after he does that, I think he'd probably think twice before doing it again next time since he's definitely not a fighter.

Don't blame guys like him and Doughty going after the Sedins though, it agitates them and those guys can get away with it.

...but it's junior... smaller players play physical roles as well. Do people expect them to be power forwards? No, they come out of junior and show they are not. At some point over the last 4 years, people have had to clue into he the idea that he is not a power player. Ffs, people were talking Bertuzzi and power forward last season and I went back 10 games and compared his hits with Hodgsons and Kass only had 2 more hits and he had more games with zero hits...

Maybe the focus should be on his skating and offensive skills is all I'm saying. If he can produce with out being ragged on for not playing physical, his confidence can slowly be built on... maybe the power will follow or not but it could make him useful or tradeable..
