The draft pick in the Klink deal isn't happening. It was conditional on Samuelsson playing 40 games for the Coyotes, and that isn't happening. - rival22
Ok, I was not aware of the conditions on that... pretty wonky condition too. Oh well. |

This site seems to be the best as far as draft pick status:

Not sure where they get their info, but I haven't seen them be wrong yet. |

Reading that makes us not seem as bad pick wise as some here have made us out to be... Although I am utterly confused by our 3rd round pick situation now.
Except that we don't have one, but I no longer know who has ours |

Frees up space to make another move.. but we NEED draft picks next year. On the fence here..
Edit: I don't do it. Scuderi hasn't been that bad at all. He just carries a contract about a million over what he should make. Keep him this year we need our D. Off season move him to a team that could use him. Most likely won't happen though. - znagle
The 2nd is steep but it gives us a solid bottom 6 option this season and a wholeee lot of cap space to work with. I feel we'd need to overpay to get rid ourselves of Scuds contract. We could then easily bring in a Bergenheim or whoever else we want pretty much. |

No, hell no infact. Cannot give up your first 3 rounds of picks without a real return. Not just a cap space clear and bottom 6 player. That and I do not believe Scuds is playing so bad this season that he needs a 2nd packaged with him. Might be able to ship him and a 2016 4th or 5th to clear the space. |

In no way should they trade their 2nd. |

Only way I can see the 2nd being shipped out that I'd be ok with... Is for example... Sutter and our 2nd for Bern or Winnik and their 3rd+5th type of trade. I wouldn't be thrilled losing the second, but at least get back lower picks. Something to that extent is the only way I would want that 2nd used. |

We need this pick, only way I'm comfortable with it if it was for Kane for Sutter + 2nd, or a young guy who is under contract. This pick very well could be a Saad type of guy, especially in this deep draft. |

The worry here about early picks is legit, but overhyped. A realistic debut of a 2round or higher selection in 2015 is 2019.
With that said. Sutter to Toronto for Winnik + a 2nd round pick and b level prospect. Toronto could then move Santorelli without feeling any loss and recoup assets, while at the same time getting younger down the middle.

I'm at the point where I'd rather part with Dumo than our 2nd.
I would have absolutely loved the Hornqvist deal if we got one of their 2nd's (they had two) instead of Spaling. |

Besides Lundqvist there's nothing new on the injury front. |

Its not solely the "can't lose a 2nd rounder" its that that being shipped out has us without a pick until the 4th round. That is just... bleh. |

Next year we need to keep all picks. We are in a good place for next year. Our 1st-3rd should be off limits unless it's for a young guy under contract. If we can figure our 3c, 4c out next year (Spaling, Sundqvist, FA) then I will be more than happy to ship Sutter for a pick or two. |

Yes, I was on that side of the fence back then too... Now, with Sutter being REALLY uncertain here and Spaling playing quite solid, he would likely be worth that 2nd, especially with Sutter traded. |

Sign me up. Maybe we don't even need the prospect. I would be happy with that return. That second will be a low-mid range pick. |

That is tough, but deadline deals can be made to get back into the fray. If Sutter doesn't want to resign he could be dealt draft day for picks. There are always options. |

Yikes... I was looking up Spaling's points and +- for the season, and saw 3 interesting things.
Sutter at -6, well, not interesting, we knew this.
Perron at -5, jesus Edmonton (frank)ed him hard.
Harrington... -10!!!! ummm wow.
edit: oh yeah, Spaling... 20 points, +2, and one of only 2 of our players to not miss a game. Shockingly, Scuds is the other with 51.
For being a 3rd/4th line tweener, even having top 6 time a bit... On pace for around 35 points and around 12 goals. Sounds like a no complaints considering how (frank)ed most player's usage has been. |
