This team needs goals and speed - VANTEL
I wouldn't trade the Sedins unless I was either going through a complete rebuild or I had a similar level of leadership coming back. If the Sedin's are gone, there will be no leadership left in the room. |

I voted no. Regardless of 'potential' ,I have no interest in adding an immature, spoiled little brat who throws hissy fits and divides the locker room. We just got rid of Kesler. - Marwood
30 goals is not potential lol
Also when ur in the locker room with Buff etc lemme know.
Its more about Chevy doing nothing n creating this problem when he could of got assets last summer. |

I agree that any team could always use some more speed (and scoring); however, with respect to focusing on goals, you need players that can set them up. The Sedins can't do everything (as much as I know you think they should ) |

What I expect is at least one blue chip prospect and likely a 1st round pick
For a guy that has so many question marks that is a price I would be unwilling to pay
And clearly since I am not sold on the Kassian+Higgins+Lack proposal that many have suggested then I am aware of how hard it is to get one - bezz44
Yep, keep adding to the cupboard. Benning is only going to get Kane if it's a "hockey" trade. He's unwilling to trade his futures. |

Idk what u r saying..very vague.
Idk if u know how hard it is to get scoring power forwards.
What exactly is what u expect means? - Nighthawk
But we don't have anymore Hodgesons to trade away for scoring power forwards. |

Just another reason to split them up. If they're so adept at setting people up, and can't score, why have them on the same line now? |

Kane also playing injured all year - Retinalz
Sure, but that factors into the question marks. Only year he played every game was the lockout shortened season. And what I was pointing out is that you cannot say that Kane is definitively better than all of the players I listed when he is putting up stats like that. You can play the injury card but if there is no large sample size of uninjured play with which to compare then the argument that he is so much better than all of our players is completely unsupported. I also don't buy using the 30 goal season as a benchmark for what we can expect. If we have to use the "what have you done for me lately" philosophy for our players then the same goes for even a young guy like Kane |

Oh man, that brings back so many memories. How we all used to get in trouble hanging out talking about analytics until the sun came out. Then we'd go and make corsi graphs on actual graph paper! and would analyze those for the entire day, all whilst drinking spritzers We got into so much trouble, Jeebus! I hope you don't go down the same road we did, Bezz/Nucker - once you've done corsi your life is changed forever - Zogg

the thing is, you just can't achieve that same sort of chemistry that the Sedins have together. All they've ever needed is a sniper to convert on their seeing-eye passes (and second tier scoring for @#$@# sakes - which has not been properly addressed for sometime) Think about it, they made a 30 goal scorer out of Anson Carter and haven't really seen anyone (other than Burrows) who has that same sort of chemistry to be consistently productive. |

Still got the better of that deal with both being useless. Kassian will fetch a bag of pucks n Hodgson can be a good AHLer just ask Roberts. |

That has to great for those guys confidence.
They essentially just gave them away.

So we can expect the Sedins to score 100 points next year because they have done it before? I know he is young but that doesn't mean it doesn't take dedication, hard work, chemistry, and some luck to produce every single year in this league |

I think we've reached the stage where other players will help the Sedins reach better point totals instead of the other way around. |

Idk what u expect. But speaking as we idk u had power of attorney over everyone.
Kane would get 30 n add anything u think will happen but not twisting my words tyvm |

14 million on one line is too much for a set up man. We are 21 St in the league for goals and one of the worst goals total for a first line in the league. |

We also have very limited secondary scoring - I'd say we have to be at or near the bottom with respect to that. You just can not be successful (regardless of who is on the top line) if you don't have that additional threat of secondary scoring. Yes, it's great to see guys like Horvat, Bonino, Vey, Higgins etc occasionally chip in but that is simply not enough. That has and always will be (although I'm hoping with Linden that won't be the case going forward) the Canucks main problem. |
