When and why did trade becomes so insane? Imo I think you make a trade and it should be fair value for each. Maybe pay a little more if your wanting a rental or something. Wanting 4 or 5 pieces for one player seems dumb.

Fair value is for the EA Sports hockey games. Unfortunately star players always cost more. Especially if the team is not completely looking to trade him, or multiple teams want him. If only one team was interested in a specific player and the team was looking to trade, that's the only time you would see fair value.
