Ugh, I wasn't sure whether to post anything about this... but I did want to clarify a few things:
1. We don't have cannabis-cells in our body that are fed by THC to improve our health. THC triggers the release of a neurotransmitter in the brain that makes us feel awesome.
2. Doctors won't (or shouldn't) withhold referrals because they don't make money on them. That is against the hippocratic oath, and several actual laws I believe. If you feel that your doctor doesn't have your best interests at heart, find a new doctor and report the old one to the Canadian Medical Association/provincial association.
3. If something makes you feel better, then do it. But the alleviation of symptoms does not always = a cure.
4. THC doesn't cure cancer, and neither does accupuncture. They may help with the symptoms.
5. Don't be so quick to hate on traditional Chinese medicines. They often get a bad rap because we don't know exactly what they are doing and whether they are treating the symptoms or treating the disease. There is a lot of scientific research going on into how these treatments actually work.
6. How 'bout the game last night? (frank) you Sindy.

the sedins are fine but they need to be transitioned to 2nd line players. and eventually 3rd liners. in the future, they might not be a physically grinding 3rd line but they could be very effective checkers and add some offense.
the problem is there needs to be a push from younger players to take over the top spots. the team needs elite (first line talent) pushing up. that is not a new revelation.
does the team have it in shinkaruk and virtanen? i don't know and it's not going to be known for a couple of years.
that leaves the fact that the 2nd line is still woefully inadequate.
the options are: do you try to quick fix (trade) the 2nd line or do you believe it will grow organically (draft/development).
the sedins are left to wait and they get blamed for their drop of play. but it's the fact that there is no push from the bottom that is killing them.
the team does on occasion get secondary scoring (like last night) but it's sporadic. the opposition just needs to game plan the sedins and the pp and that seems to be working.
while i may agree with vantel about the need to gut/transition the team, the changes we would make are very different. - RealityChecker
Everything I bolded sounds like what Vantel has been saying all season...

Cancer sucks. My father just went through treatment for the 2nd xmas holidays in a row. I recently lost my dog to cancer as well and now my uncle has cancer in his liver. Everywhere I turn it's there.... - boonerbuck

It's true, the older we get the more you notice it. I'd recommend everyone look at critical illness insurance. It's something that has been around 10 years but is now becoming more and more popular.
A friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer, and she got 100k from her insurance company to take time off work, and use the money on medication etc...
It's a no brainer if you ask me. * waits for RC to call me names for suggesting CI insurance. |

the problem is the last point i made.
it's actually the crux of the difference.
i don't think anyone actually thinks this team is good enough. most, if not all of us agree with most of what i've written. unless you are very naive or a total homer, the holes on this team are very evident. the issues/fighting is how to make the team better.
and the ridiculous trade proposals. |

I think Dorsett has got to be my favourite Canuck this year. The guy is a beast. So hungry for the puck and plays balls to the wall. Can you imagine a game where 20 guys played like that on each team? It would be the best game ever with no survivors. - micah555
He and Horvat are my Darlings this season. They bring it every night. Horvat couldnt have asked for a better line mate on this team to mentor his game.

Angilena jolie actually had her breasts removed prior to even being diagnosed. Smart and very strong woman. I tip my cap to her.
Her genetics said it needed to be done and she did not hesitate. |

I really don't see trades available to help this team win now, unless we were to mortgage the foreseeable future for guys with problems ala Kane.
This draft seems to be unique in the fact that there should be a number of impact players available.
I think the Sedins will retire to Sweden after this contract, and will probably be 2nd line calibre for the duration of it. Their true value to this team moving forward is teaching the youth.
I think moving the Sedins sends a bad message about this organization. It would be nice to move a few vets for picks in the upcoming draft but I doubt any of them will waive an NTC or have much much value like Higgins, Hansen. |

i'm not going to go over all of them b/c i honestly can't remember. you are entitled to value/over-value players. honestly, the proposals that drive me nuts are the ones where you absolutely overvalue canucks players.
and i disagree with your opinion with respect to the sedins.

Horvat looks better in his rookie season than Kes. Not even remotely trying to throw Kes under the bus. He gave everything he had for this team before it became a circus.
Regardless. Look at BOHO the players he's playing with and the plays he makes with limited ice time.
If we didnt have such good depth in goal I think I may be a little angry. But my goodness. Its a Gillis deal I actually approve of.
I just hope the kid will get more PP time or even top six time before seasons end. |

It is good to agree on many things and still have some different opinions.
As per the ridiculous trade proposals, it is the nature of this sight. Especially with everyone agreeing on the need(s)- get younger, draft better, replace the Sedins as the top line... not an easy fix if it is all through drafting and patience in a not so patient hockey market.
Some of the crazy trade proposals here are a, we want to get in on the action, reply to the crazy proposal on the threads of other teams... just fun. And there have been many crazy real trades that we have seen play out like Neal for Gologoski or Seguin for Eriksson+... |

Question: And because of the amount of banter their has been regarding Kane over the last couple of days I should know this.
Does he have a NTC. Can He Kesler it up as much as he wants to to go where he wants to? |

Ok
I feel this team won't be a contender until 3-4 years when the old core is gone. Everyone included.
I don't get tricked by this retool BS and realize it takes a new GM about 5 years to get his team in place.
I understand the pressure from ownership to make the playoffs and because of that we will take longer to do what needs to be done.
