When he came back after the last time, he did refer a question about severity to Hextall, refusing to answer. - Jsaquella
If he needs to go under the knife, just do it now and be ready for next year. Lord knows this team isn't going anywhere this year.
Besides. If he hangs it up for the season, we'll have a better shot at going somewhere in the near future |

Outside of Stolarz their depth prospect wise at goalie is pathetic, it's something to address in the very near future & one extra picks would help with sooner. - ob18
That's really it -- they need at least two more in the system, pronto

Officially not returning, per Flyers twitter - Jsaquella
Im guessing he returns at training camp |

I would like to hope so, because you are right: Stolarz isn't really an answer - AllInForFlyers
Not that he isn't the answer, you just don't want to bring up a young prospect and feed him to the wolves. They are going nowhere. Let Emery play, and when Zepp is back from injury he is the backup/starter.
The most important thing is to shut Mason down and find out what the hell is wrong with the guy. They look ridiculous having him come back time after time only to have him go down because he's not healthy. |

We don't need an answer this year. We need a big RV or bus to drop off the TDL Fire sale players. And bring Stolarz up for a look. Why the hell not? A look. Don't shut down Mase, but don't rush him back. Between Zeppelin, Emery, and Stolarz we can give them good work and breaks. I get Zepp is hurt but give the other two a couple a piece. |

I agree they should shut him down, they aren't going anywhere this season.
I'm not blaming them for him coming back , all you can do is go on the facts you get and if everything says a player is healthy then he should play.

So who will backup Emery? I didn't see what happened to Mason, they never showed it on the feed I'm watching. |

I don't feel like Mason is ever eased in either. He returns and sees every game for the second time after an injury and look what happens in the middle of a game every time. |

Instead, after addressing the media, Mason limped down the hallway toward the showers with a huge ice bag wrapped around his right knee. It was the same knee that he alluded earlier “desperate measures” — surgery, perhaps? — were pondered about while he was out.
“I think the organization did everything they could to make sure that long-term, they did what’s best for me,” Mason said.
But when pressed for more details on his vague answers, Mason froze.
“Talk to [general manager Ron Hextall] or [trainer] Jimmy McCrossin," Mason said. “I don’t want to comment more than that.”
That's after the win over Arizona, where Mason refused to answer questions about the injury

How significant is the Zepp injury? If he's out for an extended period of time would anyone be interested in Josh Harding? |

It was a matter of time. Rode his injured ass into the ground. Could see this coming miles away. |

Exactly; either they know and all involved thought he could play through it -- and he can't -- or they don't know and need to find the (frank) out

Definitely shut him down.
I Do feel they need to bring someone up who can play, because if they try to ride Emery he will just break down as well.

So on a team going nowhere, Mason may need surgery and he's out there playing in meaningless hockey games? Brilliant strategy. |

For me it was the reports of him really limping after practices. We are 11 points out. What the hell are they doing? |

The decision should be taken out of the player's hand. If there is a possibility he may need surgery, you shut the player down and evaluate the situation. This especially in a season where you are going nowhere.
The fact Berube is playing him every game, I can't really blame him. It's a results business and Berube is coaching for his job, he's going to put the goaltender out on the ice that gives the team the best chance to win. |
