Yandle is younger, and has more points. In fact, since the lockout, Yandle is 3rd in the NHL among defensemen in points - Jsaquella
Yandle and Streit aren't the only players available. Would you rather have Sekera for a first or Streit and is contract |

Nope he's right, time to trade Voracek now, before the NHL realizes he needs Giroux.
The one game Giroux missed-against NJ- after his ankle got cut, Voracek has an assist. The entire team was pretty bad, especially Ray Emery. - Jsaquella

Sekera, because I can get him and then sign him to a deal I negotiated, that isn't an over 35 |

There wasn't a point in his entire post that suggested that Voracek should be traded or isn't a good player, if he was separated from Giroux. What he is basically saying is that he think's Voracek would be less effective away from Giroux, and I agree with him. - MJL
This is exactly what I was saying and I don't see why it's so hard for some to wrap their heads around this. |

What deal can they make for a young top pairing dman that isn't going leave crater sized holes elsewhere in the roster that at this time sure won't be filled by any prospects in our system - Just5
Not saying top pair. They could be top pair potential. You can move guys like schenn voracek and Coburn in a variety of packages and offer to eat money in the deals to get better returns.
Might be able to move some bad contracts as part of the deals as well |

If the Captain says they are a playoff team. Is that good enough, or should they have to, you know, make the playoffs |

To nitpick... Which Schenn? You wouldn't have to eat any money for any of the above players. Or you shouldn't. If Hexy does, he should probably be fired for being a horrible negotiator. |

I think the Flyers could make things interesting but there are really good teams in this division. |

Think he's saying you toss in a Lecavalier or MacDonald and eat a little of their cash to make it work if needed |

Every player is going to be better playing with G. 2 games without G this season isn't enough to draw conclusions on how Jake would be solo, imo. |

It's pissing in the wind. Move voracek for a guy that might have top pairing potential? Craters open up. Want to deal coots or b schenn? Ok but be prepared to move multiple picks as well for a player with top pairing potential, or a veteran that will cost a lot.
It pretty much can't be done. I agree move the bad contracts, eat money, that won't get us what we need right away though. The best bet is through the draft, and Hexy needs to start getting picks. |

Thanks Bill. I just hope that White can break Wilson's nose this game. That guy is all over the ice, and likes to bang people up; he is Washington's version of Clutterbutt. Anyway, don't let him start scaring a player like Read. We have to have an answer for those guys that try to take liberties with the team.
Also, we have to get guys to the net, and get in front of Holtby. He is playing some good hockey this season, and if we start shooting around the top of the circles, like we have a tendency to do, it will be a long night.
I would also demote McD to the last line of D or let him sit in the box. I just hate a turnover machine.
The countdown begins for the next Rinaldo sighting...lol. To the waivers for you...

Noticing the player's entire body of work and the Flyers Coaches unwillingness to break up the pair even in tough times is enough to come to this conclusion. I'm sure Voracek would chip in offensively but not dominate the way Giroux dominates with whomever he plays with. |

Yup, I'd like some more picks. Nobody wants Umby or Vinny at the length/dollars they are making, and if we're throwing them in as part of a deal, I'm guessing that means we over-paid elsewhere, so moving some D is the most likely. |

You're hinting that Berube hasn't broken up G and Jake because Jake wouldn't be as good or as effective? Jake's body of work is that of an improving player, and he's 25. |

Interesting, sure. But for who?
Probably for the bubble teams they face because the Flyers will be playing for their jobs rather than for a PO spot.
I don't see this team as currently constructed as nothing more than a bubble team at best for years to come unless they can move out some suffocating contracts and bring in some talented younger forwards - whether that be through trades or picks.

I know you don't have to. I'm saying you do it get a better return. So many teams are up against the cap or small market. If the Flyers commit to a rebuild next year, it won't matter if they're paying part of Coburn or Jakes deal
Was referring to Brayden. Luke is almost worthless as an asset at this point |

For MoAT
@DStrehleTFP: On this day in 1992, Dale Kushner scored GWG & Ron Hextall turned away all 30 Nordiques shots in #Flyers 3-0 win @ Le Colisée in Québec. |

I honestly believe Sean Couturier is a better playmaker center then he's given credit for. - SuperSchennBros
Give him BSchenn and Simmonds as wingers and close to 50% ES OZ starts and the Flyers would have a productive second line.
Right now he's getting 39% ES OZ starts and Read and Umberger having career worst seasons as his wingers. |

Leave G and Jake alone.
Break them up and they both, along with the team, would probably suffer proving nothing. |

I think it's worth exploring myself.
Give Simmonds and Schenn to Giroux as wingers and have Voracek play with Couturier and Raffl or Read.
At this point, what is there to lose? |

I lik this!
Or at least 3 lines with these pairings:
Giroux - Simmonds
Couturier - Voracek
Schenn - Read
Let the opposition figure out which of the top 2 combos to shadow.
Or mayber Vandevelde manning the 3rd checking line, and giving Couturier more freedom with Jake? |
