This team is awful, which makes everyone appear awful. Myers is one of the few that don't appear awful on a nighty basis which is saying something. Are we overvaluing him? Absolutely. But he's got years left on a reasonable deal so why not. I think it was one of the wings fans that said the ducks shouldn't trade gibson.. Completely agree (from the ducks side). SO if youre the sabres I'd fire away to get him. Also seems forgotten the 2nd and hackett we'd send and that the ducks first is basically an early 2nd. Folwer and myers are even imo but ones 6'8 on a bad team, no need to trade an orange for a (Bigger) orange. That's where Lovejoy steps in to add a more defensive aspect. I realize we need a scoring winger BUT if you can get a solid goalie to start for years you dodge a HUGE bullet. Goalies are kinda like QB's the best teams have the best goalies and it's hard to find an elite one so why not try.


Imo I think Stewarts doing what he does to every team by turning it on and producing then starts to sit back and ride the course of the season. In his late 20's i find it hard to believe he'll sign here again and not with a contender. So strike while the irons hot.

Well, it's laughable to defend the guy as passionately as you do in my opinion. But if you really like the guy, then that's what being a fan is all about but I think you are still seeing him as if he was playing in his rookie year.

He isn't battling anyone else. He is the guy. He is matching up against the Tyler Seguin line. He will be out against Tavares.

There are probably 8 teams that he would not be on the top pairing. A trade with the ducks for Fowler would make no sense for Buffalo. So he was on the Olympics? If Myers didn't play for Canada in the juniors, maybe he would have been on the US squad instead of Fowler.

Dallas took 85+ shots last night, Montreal took 92 shots earlier this week and you proudly assert he plays the most minutes. He' and the other Dmen + forwards aren't exactly defending all that well. If he is our best defensemen there isn't much of a difference from the others in the defensive zone.

I mean, when was the last time a team publicly announced it was trying to trade someone. It's extremely rare, and besides Rick Nash, I can't think of anyone. The Rick Nash saga got nasty.

If he isn't very good, then Ristolainen is one of the worst rookie defensemen in NHL history.

They are all as in the entire team getting dominated possession wise. You do know why right? Because they don't sustain any pressure which leads to the puck always being carried into our zone.

I can tell you have never played, as a defensemen it isn't your job to prevent shots on goal, it's to limit 2nd chances and keep everything outside. I know no matter what I say you will argue he isn't good at this or isn't good at that so this is a moot point anyways but there is a reason good teams are rumored to want him. It's not because they want to downgrade their own team

Myers is like Dion Phaneuf or Jay Boumeester in Calgary.

Myers' corsi for shots against is 46 per 60 minutes on the ice. This counts for all shots (not necessarily on net) except blocked shots. So if played 30 minutes, that would be 23 shots against. If Dallas took 85 and Montreal took 92 this would show myers was on the ice for about 20 of those shots.
