honestly it comes down to what Murray ices for next season

if he tries to make a push for the playoffs, then moving myers makes sense if it's an elite winger

if he is going to tank one more year, moving myers only makes sense if it's for an overpay of picks and prospects


the team needs 2 top 4 d men right now, if you move myers you need 3 IMO

How so?
Trading Myers would leave a MAJOR hole on our defense. Getting a solid, young defenseman back as part of the package makes total sense...
As long as the rest of the package (presumably a top prospect or young NHLer) is good enough to justify the swap of defensemen
