I have a feeling Peter Budaj is coming here. - puckhead17
HA! Is he still in the league? He was in MTL last year, right?

Kane doesn't even fit what this team needs. They need a playmaking/sniping 2nd line LW. For the rumored cost give me Oshie or Eberle. They'll help this team far more than Kane will. - hereticpride
I think anyone able to play LW naturally could be valuable to us. A playmaker would be ideal though |

I do agree with this -- damn, does this team need natural wingers in the system with high upside

I think Kane could be a really good fit. He's got size, speed and he's physical. I think he'd be a good fit on a line with Giroux and Voracek, Couturier & Simmonds or even some kind of combination of those-say with Couturier & Voracek.
I wouldn't go a ton higher than Brayden Schenn and a prospect, unless the Jets added more. - Jsaquella
I just don't see what he would bring being anywhere near worth what the cost would be.
And I really don't see a line of Kane Coots Simmonds being all that good offensively at even strength.

Really hoping Lindblom pans out. He had a great WJC and is carrying that play over for Brynas against men. |

At the risk of sounding like I'm overvaluing, I wouldn't do more than Schenn and a mid-round pick, either -- (frank), Schenn gets me 20 goals and 50-ish points right now, why should the Flyers give up anything more? |

Love winning as long as Hextall still deals a couple Dmen for picks. Playoffs are still a huge long shot. |

I think it could be, provided it's not buried in D-zone starts. Couturier does a good job driving play with Umberger and an ineffective Read on his wings, I think he'd do well with Simmonds and Kane
The return is probably the biggest concern. I do have to say that after hearing the whole incident, his behavior is more concerning to me than it was before. I can understand his being late and wearing the warm up suit, and I can understand his team being upset with him. But to basically ditch the team...before a game, that's worrisome. Says a lot about immaturity.
I'm very willing to give guys second chances, or take on potential headaches if they can play. I had an open mind to Emery back in 2009 & for Zherdev in 2011. But a guy bailing on his team, right before a game...that's some bad juju |

See my last post...
Now that the details have come out, I'm a lot more lukewarm on Kane. Schenn is producing similar numbers overall, despite being out of position and he's not a discipline case. He's prone to making poor decisions on the ice at times, but he works hard. |

Here's what I see when I consider Evander Kane:
37 GP, 10 g, 12 assists, -1, 19:19 TOI
And then Brayden Schenn:
54 GP, 12 G, 22 assists, -2, 17:07 TOI
Seriously, how aren't these guys the same player -- Kane likely a better goal-scorer, Schenn likely better at playing with his linemates?
But one guy carries a $6 million hit, the other guy a cap hit of $2.5 million?
Again, maybe I'm a little slow, but of all the deals that might be out there, maybe this is one that shouldn't really be considered

We've already had to deal with one headache not too long ago and if another one comes along at the expense of brayden schenn so help me god I will march down broad to the the important people box at the Wells Fargo Center and push hexy over the railing. |

I don't think we're making the playoffs either unless another playoff team takes a nose dive but I've seen this team beat the odds many times before. |

No, he isn't a (frank) up. Schenn is a good player. He's still developing, coming along a bit slower than hoped, but he's still a solid player with room to grow.

If we deal with the Jets, I see Budaj, not Kane.
Kane would look nice in Orange & Black, but what we're giving up would be too risky.
His attitude is too risky.
I have a gut feeling Mason will be out for a while. |

Getting a 2nd rounder in a trade this year would be great. Id do it at the expense of winning! |

If Schenner finds even a semblance of consistency, he'll quickly cement himself within the unanimous core of this team. I'm one of those who believe he's already undervalued to an extent. |

You can drop smiley faces all you want, but here's the reality: For $6 million per, the Jets are paying for one 30-goal season and a guy who has never reached 20 goals in any other year
That's right. 14 goals, 19, 30, 17, 19 and 10 -- for $6 million dollars

I agree with the overall point your making, but his cap hit is 5.25M. And it was at one point lower then that earlier in his career. I don't think he's played to that level lately, along with the character risks, and the cost to acquire him, I'd look in another direction.

I would have rather have gone for Perron instead. |
