thanks, i can use that. have been thinking of buying my first fire arm. that's enough reason to push me over the line.
more importantly, why do you have a photo of a shirtless CSP?
as one who lived through many vermont and minnesota winters, i feel like i'm getting a little payback right now, especially after that poop show winter we had last year when a tree fell across my driveway and we lost power the day of the move. i share my weather as more of an incentive, to encourage, rather than to injure. - hammarby31
Would never want such a thing, my friend. Just jealous about good weather.
It approached 50 today, but we're about to get the tail end of that awful blizzard that Boston is going to get pummelled with. I guess I can't female dog....they'll get multiple feet of snow and I'll just get a sloppy, poopty commute. |

yeah. tough way to lose, but at least getting back out there again and moving around made you feel a little bit better physically. - stayinthefnnet
my favorite part is the mass team apology at the end of the game: "sorry dude" "hung you out to dry" "can't expect to make 5 saves every time" etc...i just laugh. sure i'm annoyed as (frank) during the game, but it is what it is. |

Here's a list of players that make less then Amac, tell me if you would take Amac over any of these guys.
Kronwall - 4.75mil
McDonagh - 4.7mil
Shattenkirk - 4.25mil
Voynov - 4.1mil (say what you will about his off the ice issues, that's not what we're debating)
Hjlamarsson - 4.1mil
Giordano - 4mil
Josi - 4mil
Hedman - 4mil
Seidenberg - 4mil
Fowler - 4mil
Staal - 3.9
Carlson - 3.9
I could go on but I think you get the point. Every name on that list I think brings a lot more to the table than Amac and for a much better price tag. - Roytastic
some of it does have to do with just the luck of the draw of when guys contracts are up.
i can go up and down that list and pick out a bunch that will eclipse amacs deal with their next contract.
but i do get what youre saying. even if you can argue that amac is essentially market value, every guy up there is a below market value contract for their team, which is huge. the flyers do not have that on the back end.
but you currently have it up front with voracek and simmonds.

Some of these guys signed at a much younger age, some before the lockout, (which differs in the $ they received).
Were any UFA's like AMac?
As an RFA can't demand the same $ that a UFA can, (an he was playing 25-26 minutes a game before UFA), that can boost a guys $ somewhat.
Nice try, but not all of these guys were in the same situation when he/they signed.
Hedman, seriously? His next deal will be for Subban $
Your avatar looks like Robert Blake to me, (I don't know why). |

okaaaaaaaay.....you're the one who brought it up.
seriously though, new mexico has amazing weather. all 4 seasons, but each are basically mild. the summer can get really hot for a spell but it doesn't last forever. it's dry and sunny almost every single day. i do not miss the rain or humidity at all. even when it snows, it doesn't last long. i feel very fortunate. really. |

The trouble is, this season, MacDonald has the 28th highest cap hit in the NHL.
He and Grossmann played the fewest minutes today. That's $8.5mm for the 5th & 6th most used defensemen in the game today. |

Just watched the game.
Nearly got myself relegated to sleeping on the couch tonight for yelling at the refs.
That was a real Tim Peel master(frank).
The call on Read was embellished by the Cap and OV took a dive on the AMac "tripping".
Nice game by the Flyers. Really played great in all three zones.
Did they ever show what happened to Mase? My feed just showed him limping down the hall to the dressing room.
Liked Simmonds with Couts a lot, hope that sticks.
In fact when Raffl gets back I'd love to see 12 with Jake and G
and Simmonds with Couts and Schenn. |

Tomorrow morning and afternoon, but we ain't getting what Boston is getting.
Boston has pre-emptively closed the city for Monday AND Tuesday from what I've read in anticipation of this storm.
We're just getting lucky. |

As a STH, I did not like the news of Peter Luukko's departure.
All jokes about drafting his kid aside, Peter Luukko did really great things for this franchise.
As someone who has lived in corporate America for 20 years, it seems to me that Luukko is an obviously talented guy who can pull deals together. I respect the hell out of him and was sorry to see him go. The Florida franchise is lucky to have him and if anyone can make that franchise go, it's Luukko. - johndewar
Not a STH so I can't comment on that part. I don't blame Comcast for looking for more involvement with the franchise. They do own a large portion of it after all. And not to mention also handle literally every single televised game we Flyers fans see, be it through CSN, NBCSN or NBC.
I still think that the vast failure of what Xfinity Live was supposed to be(shopping mall, hotels, movie theatre, restaurants etc) and what it turned into ( a glorified TGI Fridays) had a whole hell of a lot to do with Luukko's departure.
Remember this?

not true. the weather isn't identical all over the state either due to the mountain ranges, elevation changes etc. last year when i moved here it was much colder than it is now...never getting above 50 until late march or early april, but i was in santa fe and it's generally about 10 degrees cooler there than ABQ. it gets hot, but not like Arizona hot. i couldn't live there.
about 3 weeks ago we were regularly in the 20s at night and early morning...getting into the high 30's mid 40s. we're having a warm spell right now. it's a bit weird honestly. |

That sounds awesome!
I'm a single Dad and when it snows and they call off of school when I have my kid, I have to figure out what happens when he doesn't have school.
Last winter, my kid spent 3 days in my office. He was bored to tears. At the time, my boss did not dig working from home (which makes him a dillhole, in my book).
This year, my bosses' boss kinda laid it down that working from home was fine when the weather sucked. About (frank)ing time. |

Matt Carle signed for $5.5 mill as a UFA, what was AMac supposed to do, take the lowest bidder?
Seriously, I understand the guy doesn't skate, & produce like Streit, & MDZ, but he's very reliable.
Sorry, I just don't get the AMac haters. |

You guys getting much snow in the mountains this year in NM?
It's been so warm here it's raining even up at high elevations in the N Cascades.

The officiation was horrific today. Terribly one sided.
Mason was stretching during a stoppage before the penalty that became a 5 on 3, and pushed away from the boards, and seemed to grab at his knee, then immediately stepped off with McCrossin.
