07/08 Blackhawks. Kane and Toews were both rookies. Went from picking 1st overall to a respectable 40-34-8. They picked 11th.

07/08 Penguins went from picking 2nd in June to losing in the Stanley cup finals.


It would not shock me if they add E Kane, McEichel, Reinhart, and Gringo(as he has to be up here) into the lineup and you get something that resembles 07/08 Hawks.

I bet Murray makes a push next year IMO.

Who says Myers will be gone and Kane is not a for sure thing, I mentioned earlier things are moving forward for Kane, but that doesn't mean another team won't better the Sabres offer.

It isn't just Kane. McEichel are those rare breed of talent that comes along and just wow's you. Add Reinhart who is no slouch, the defense gets one more year older and wiser, and then sprinkle in E Kane. I'm not saying playoffs but something respectable to what the Hawks looked like in 07/08 (they had 88 points). This team will not be picking top 5 next year.

Niemi has been a starter and has 1 cup with a stacked team and has done S$$T with the Sharks. We can be just as good with Enorth for less then 4 mill a year.

The offense will certainly be better with Kane and McEichel. Add Reinhart into that mix. This is going to be a fun team to watch next year at least. Kane would be pretty cool to grab.

Niemi is a good goalie. He like many are in that 8-22 that can argued for any placement in that range.
