Why would the Sabres want to trade Myers? I don't get it, the kid is young and good w/a cap friendly contract...... Myers is the perfect dman who can help mentor the other kids on D..... A young core together is key..... - Ur Not Me
We don't. To be technical, Murray is not making calls but is listening to offers. He will be sold if he's overpriced. That is all. |

That would be equivalent to Eller, DeLaRose and 2015 1st for Mtl.
Kane does not worth that at the moment.
Eller (Foligno) and a 1st would be the maximum they would get. Maybe another lesser asset like a B prospect or a 3rd rounder but not much more than that. - soad_live
but...the sabres have a pretty deep prospect pool and have five picks in the first two rounds of this draft...they have prospects coming out the butt...they could overpay without doing too much damage to their system |

When your captaincy comes into question and is even thought about being stripped, let alone actually happening, that's a sign of things to come. That, sir, is common sense. |

Just asking..... U don't think his injuries & character issues hurt his trade value???
just keep in mind, NOT 1 trade has been made where it seemed equal value in recent years.... - Ur Not Me
of course the Injuries and character issue hurt his trade value....The GM can ask for what ever he wants....will he get 3 assets ? maybe....will he get 3 assets like what lawless is suggesting? not a chance....Kane is a big, physical scoring winger who has under performed and has off ice issues that are being questioned by even his own team mates...
It will be interesting to see if the GM gets anything close to that asking price with his teams playoff appearance hanging in the balance....If we were talking a GM with a track record of winning then I would agree with Lawless...But Chevaldae is much like Kane... He hasn't proved anything yet....he hasn't even made the playoffs?
I liken back to what the Flyers got for Lindros.....a decent young d man....a B type of prospect that was bordering on flop and a draft pick.....Kane hardly has the pedigree of Lindros... |

Clearly you need to read up on what rentals have been going for in the past...
A 2nd rounder is the minimum he goes for - Stripes77
Clearly you overvalue a 3rd liner So i guess winnik on the leafs is getting a first rounder 21 points +11 can play center and excellent penalty killer. |

Yet it happened to Marleau before thorton both still there both still the voice in the room that's common sense and how they gave them both contract extensions. |

Your opinion is noted, however, Myers, or anyone on this team, and I mean anyone, should be traded if the other team over pays. Overpayment is a matter of judgement, but there's maybe 3 guys in this league I'd hang up on no matter what. The Sabres don't have them. |

Stewart has 17 points in the last 23 games
on the worst team the NHL has seen in the last decade
name 1 third liner that has put up those numbers in the last 23 games

Giving them contract extensions means nothing. They're old and they were stripped. Writing is clearly on the wall. They're in a state of transition where Vlasic, Joey P and Logan Couts are gonna take over. I do enjoy your use of common sense though. So, what number do you wear for the Sharks? |

You don't build a team around wingers that is correct.
You build around Reinhart and McEichel (which more than likely they will have 2 of 3). They have they additional assets to make a play for a guy like E Kane and not disrupt the rebuild in the least. IMO you will see both late 1st rd picks be moved for wingers. - dadeadhead
Been saying this for sometime now. IMO the deadline will be quiet. The draft is when a majority of the moves (For Buffalo) will take place. |

U know most teams are not trading away core pieces, so if others are happy to receive picks/prospects/and a player off roster for a player who should/could be a major piece of growth/building, then so be it.... I've said once here, w/Myers, Zad, Risto, are 3 studs in the stable.... |

Are you really comparing the past years of how stewart has played to a small sample size on a hot streak is that really what you are implying. Man a GM would laugh in you face and walk away. |

Agreed. The only potential big move is Evander.
If not then everything major gets done at the draft. |
