I would hope a pending UFA isn't included in a Myers deal - sbroads24
He wouldn't be hard to resign for the Sabres but might be for the Ducks, you want him or Ritchie? |

I'm all for trading for Kane, but I think Foligno, Grigerenko, and a 1st is too much. If they would take Foligno a 1st and maybe one of the forwards in the pipeline who haven't made it up the ranks just yet I'd make that deal. |

All I know is that there is a reason a so called great player like that is being moved.
Well, if we get him, I hope he won't be a cancer in the locker room. - Sabresfan88
fresh start...does that have a new meaning now that lindy's gone? |

Beleskey is a UFA. Potential July 1st target?
As far as Kane, 1 of Armia or Grigorenko plus a 1st and maybe a player like Flynn or Mitchell is as far as I'd go.
I can't imagine too many teams offering or able to offer much more - sbroads24
He'd really have to buy into the whole sucking thing for the next year or two. Maybe he will. He's a nice piece to have on the 2nd line to replace Stewart, maybe for cheaper. |

I like how people call him a head case and stuff like they know him. The kid definitely has some growing up to do, but he performs on the ice when he's healthy. I guarantee his style of play would make him a fan favorite around here after only a handful of games. - Pierceme69
I hope he comes to buffalo. Goes out to chip strip and flashes all that money. Gets drunk every night and blows crazy lines. Leaves arrogant Twitter messages. You wanna know why? Bcz that guy is a beast of a winger. Aslong as he's scoring 70 points I could care less about his personal life. Might boost our economy |

I would be in favor of re-signing Stewart if we land Kane. - Pierceme69

Posted this in the last thread (not realizing this one was here):
I'm confused...how does trading good players to bubble teams help Buffalo's draft? Those players are good but are doing poorly for the Sabres because of the crap roster. If they go elsewhere, they would theoretically help that team get more points and thus push them farther away from better draft picks/lottery odds. - stashu
(expecting a 1st rounder back) The reason is if they are a bubble team, they could fall out of the playoffs, opposed to a Ducks team that is #1 in the NHL right now. At least it has a chance to be a lottery ball. If it was a bubble team and they have an injury or two, they could drop, fast (see Islanders last season).

Well, What if he is a cancer in the locker room??
Then, it gets to a point that you have to move him, even if he is a great player. - Sabresfan88
Just like Seguin was not a locker room guy in Boston. A trade can do wonders for a career. |

Ther's your " role model " for him and " keeper " - SABRES 89
I don't think he needs a role model. It seems more to me like he needs to have someone he can relate to. It can't be easy being a 4% minority in anything, let alone a sport where 97% of its fans are also different ethnically. |

Only way we get him is if we over pay. foligno is expendable. Grigorenko would fall down the depth charts at center anyways behind Girgenson mc eichle and reinhart. He would also fall down depth charts at wing behind ennis, armia, moulson. So I feel he could be expendable too for a guy like Kane. And Aslong as we are not giving up our first I could care less. We have another 1 to play with anyways. |

Kane and his brother are close to Stewart from what i've heard and read about. Maybe it helps I don't know. |

It depends on what role they end up needing to fill. If we just need a guy to ride shotgun on a line with McEichel or Reinhart maybe a "sniper" like Armia is the way to go. I think Grigs is going to end up on the wing anyway though. I'd like to keep both. |

I get why he did it. Better player for less money. Both pending ufa's. Moulson already not committed to resign. Comming off a playoff season. In the end getting dacolle and hosang kinda makes up for losing this years first. Like you said it should have been 1 of a few moves. Any other year vanek would have commanded a handsome return. Colberg might be allright and that 2nd was used to get boydchuk.... Kk guess it wasn't as bad as I thought. - joshs
More like Snow was committed to not resigning him not Moulson not wanting to sign. Not sure if that's what you meant? |

would you agree to an opinion that the vanek trades were just short of disasterous (considering they finished 5th from the bottom,) but that snow made a helluva comeback in the off season? (maybe getting a little lucky with boychuk and leddy?) |

Someone is going to have to go for Kane if this happens, if you keep or bring back Stewart IMO, Foligno goes. If you don't bring back Stewart we keep Foligno. |

But if it's a bubble team, it means they're close to the playoffs and thus higher draft pick and little/no lottery odds. Trading them any of the Sabres "good" players would improve that team and thus have them push higher in the standings, lowering the value of the 1st rounder coming back. |

Just talking numbers and players as of now, nothing they haven't done in the past about certain players. No red flags or alarms. |
