So a third-liner, a mid-tier prospect, and a high pick.

Now, seriously: Staal is a better player than Kane, right? I haven't lost my mind, have I?

- AllInForFlyers

i dont know. it depends what you ultimately want out of it.

you hit the nail on the head with this issue. Winnipeg is expecting to charge a 40 goal winger price, for a guy who simply isnt there yet.

i understand the potential, and that isnt totally irrelevant in price. but the anchor of reality also has to be taken into consideration.

I knew that TSN was in Quebec this week but I didn't get to see more than a handful of minutes.

Ok. Deep breath. I'm done with this topic, at least until someone trades too much for the guy, in which case Hextall should put Baby Schenn up for auction

haha i mean others are on here more than i am, so maybe they are weary about it. but i dont mind. i think its interesting.

i dont think he gets moved before the offseason anyway.

until then, i just think asking and getting are two different things, and something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

all i know for sure, is what i would be willing to give up for a respective player, given a current situation.

There's currently a player that's one free clot in the blood stream away from a stroke being fast-tracked back to the ice... if the team and the player are convinced they want to do something (stupid), how exactly is a doctor going to stop it from happening?
- Tomahawk

I agree with you but the anatomy is wrong, so forgive me for being pedantic.

the blood clots Kimmo are dealing with are in the veins of his legs, and if they break loose, they go through the heart into the pulmonary artery, not into the brain.

a pulmonary embolus can kill you too, just like a stroke

I can see them getting two of the three in the end, but not a player, a prospect, and a first round pick.
- BulliesPhan87

I honestly think sometimes teams put out an exorbitant asking price for a player when they really don't want to trade him, but they will if somebody is willing to drastically over pay for the player. Like Arizona trading Yandle, which has been rumored forever.

I was a lot more interested in Kane until the details came out about the incident. Kid bailed on his team, right before the game. That leaves a bad taste to me.

The funny thing with the Kane thing, I think no matter what happens, even if the team stops the slide and continues on as playoff bound. Unless they win, Kane will be blamed as a distraction.

Good riddance frankly. Cocky, spoiled rich female dog.

I agree that's probably the case with Yandle. When it comes to defensemen, Arizona's dealing from a position of strength. As for Kane, I get the impression the player-team relationship is pretty ugly, and he'll be gone by next season.

Of course, they're wise to not just outright say they'll settle for less to resolve the situation.
