I agree that's probably the case with Yandle. When it comes to defensemen, Arizona's dealing from a position of strength. As for Kane, I get the impression the player-team relationship is pretty ugly, and he'll be gone by next season.

Of course, they're wise to not just outright say they'll settle for less to resolve the situation.

If Winnipeg could get that kind of haul for Kane, they should do it even if there wasn't the off the ice stuff going on. I don't think they can reasonably expect to get that kind of return.

The mindset that they have, the bunker mentality, IS ingrained. They could save themselves a lot of grief if the they didn't treat these things like Nixon treated secretaries talking to reporters.

Scott Hartnell was a character guy. Not in terms of words like Jeremy Roenick or Chris Pronger butmore so his uunorthodox style of play.

Yep, I get fibbing if a guy is returning soon and he's got a vulnerable area that could be targeted.

In a case like Mason's though, where he has had recurring issues and it's pretty obvious that this has been ongoing...
