Well at least the up, close, and personal with Trevor Linden on Canucks TV, prior to the game, was good!

I love Trevor Linden and I am glad to see him with the organization again.

I wonder how different this game would be had Hansen scored on the short handed break away.

Great guy, my dad works at YVR as a screening officer and said he and the Sedins were/are the nicest of the Canuck stars he's met there over the years in terms of taking their time to talk to him and others.

He also worked at UPS back when he had two jobs and made a few deliveries to Linden's house and he was always willing to talk for a few minutes.

That being said, being a good team President is more than just about being a nice guy so hopefully he and Benning know what they're doing.

F this game. Time for a jazz cigarette and an episode of Better Call Saul.

Just like the Canucks. Shake up the goalie at the end of the game.

There is so much of the old Flames 08'/'09/'10 I see in this team. I hate to say this, but living in BC for 21 years then Calgary for the last 10 it's way too familiar. Fan base, the hate, the demand for change.. Apparently I watch too much hockey to find the similarities.

Isn't he basically a glorified baby kisser? Not that that's not an important role, Gillis spent five years scaring the poop out of babies, but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with Linden being much more then a public relations move.

It's extremely similar. Canucks at least got a #6 overall pick though.

Agreed, but the 'retooling' worked. Not that the Flames are in a better position, but the quality of hockey and the excitement is back in the team with the youth, not to mention the fans. We will always have the plugs, but win or lose it's entertaining.

Was Miller playing? Or were they playing with an empty net until Lack showed up?

Here is something interesting:

Trevor Linden was drafted in 1988, second overall. He played for the Canucks for 10 years when he was traded to the NYI for Todd Bertuzzi, Bryan McCabe and a 3rd round pick (Jarkko Ruutu). Todd Bertuzzi was then flipped for Roberto Luongo and Bryan McCabe helped us get both Sedins.

Vancouver traded Luongo for Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Matthias
And the Sedins are currently with the Canucks Organization

It is amazing to think how much a draft pick in 1988 (almost 30 years ago) has and still has a profound affect on the Canucks Organization.

Markstrom, Matthias, and Daniel Sedin are technically here because of Trevor Linden.

Could you imagine what we could have had if Gillis handled the Luongo situation better?

We are becoming the Flames 2.0 but it can be avoided with some smart thinking.

I think Benning and WD are up to it.

I tried to get my regular poster here, but didn't want to settle for a more questionable guy just for the sake of it so I got a guy Lums vouched for. Leaf fan replacing a Leaf fan

I am cool with whoever as long as they don't flake out totally. Everyone has a life and sometimes it does get in the way but a month and a half off when it only takes 10 mins to set your lines for the week and check your messages at the same time is not a lot to ask.

You may get your wish. Bonino left the rink in a walking boot. Twitter is a buzz for starting up the tank!
