I know his stats aren't the best but whenever emery has been asked to answer the bell when Mase goes down I find he steps up. Helps that he gets game action and c. Get into a groove. He gets criticized but he's a perfect backup IMO

completely agree ... too many people actually expect a backup goalie to be every bit as good as the starter, and criticize him like hell when he ain't.

It can never be easy to rarely play and be asked to keep this team in it. A back up's role has to be as tough as a starter's in very different ways. A starter has to be great every night, a back up is expected to play when and if he plays.
