Meh, I didn't even think it was a big deal. Just some light joking around on their own local radio station.
I bet their PR guys probably told Benn to do it.

I think Mgmt told them to do it. Also Benn does not want to walk around his hometown as a villan |

They got fish hooked by the media, but Seguin and Benn still should have had the wherewihthall to know what going on, and not feed the trolls.
I expect it from Seguin, Benn is a good Gordon Head boy, he knows better. |

Agreed.
The host did most of the talking though and like you said, he baited them into it. And it really wasn't even that bad, I think Benn did the least amount of talking as well. Seguin and the host were probably having more fun with it and with him being the 3rd guy, he went along. |

I'm pretty sure, even though joking around, a Team AND League would not want star players insinuating that other star players touch each other in dirty ways behind closed doors. |

I'd consider Buff the ultimate winner in the trade.
They get a great power forward and I very good Dman.
But only one of them will be in the line-up for the rest of the year.
So this year will only get worse for them With the assets they lost plus the fact they dont have Evander Kane.
Hence terrible team, Hence Connor Mcdavid.
Actually I'll call them Both winners.
Mcdavid + Kane could be a sick line for years to come.
Their is no such thing as short term losing In Buffalos case. Only long term winning. |

I thought it was funny myself. Political correctness is taken way to seriously nowadays. I am sure it is only to appease the masses. Hank and probably thought it was funny too.

I also think it's close, but give me Myers since he at least has an excuse for being on a terrible team, and Bogo gets injured at least once per season. Plus the knock on Myers is that he doesn't always use his size, something tells me he'll be more willing to mix it up now on that Jets team who thrive on that style.
Basically it's Stafford, Lemieux, Armia, late 2015 1st for Kane. Stafford is likely a rental, but I bet Buffalo was still going to get some value for him since they were willing to eat half of his salary(maybe a late 2nd or 3rd and mid-round prospect).
Still seems like Buffalo paid close to full value when some assumed Kane would be a discount buy with his off-ice stuff. Even though none of those young assets are proven at the NHL level, both prospects are developing well and have the size/skill that most NHL'ers do.
Remember, the Jets do have some good scouting so I gotta think they were high on both of them and will also land a solid prospect with that 1st. - Nucker101
Could say the same about Chris Tanev
But I definitely agree that the Sabres paid full value for Kane. By no means did they swindle the Jets, but they paid the price because they could. When you start haggling you risk losing the player you want. If you have a strict budget of assets then that's just life but if you are bleeding prospects and picks then why not pay a premium to make sure you're the one who gets the guy? |

They lost Myers so I don't get how Bogosian is a big upgrade for them on defense, I'll give you slight upgrade at best if you really prefer Bogo.
Kane is definitely a hell of a player. But they gave up 15-20 goal guy in Stafford and 2 good prospects along with a late 1st in the upcoming draft for Kane who has some off-ice issues.

They were fortunate they had a player without a NTC. **cough** Kesler **cough**
They had options. we pretty much had none. |

True but the owner does a lot of business in Vancouver and probably doesn't want to start every business meeting by apologizing about a hockey story |

Sedins don't care, fans shouldn't care. Dallas management should. Guy is your captain and he represents your organization. Nobody else may care but it's like mom or dad wanting to show off their golden child. No way in hell someone like Toews, Sedin etc. gets baited into making an ass of themselves on radio. |

Tanevs played about 20-25 games more than Bogosian over the past 3 years though and he is a flat out better defensive d-man. Fair point about the Sabres, I just feel like they could have paid less had they waited the Jets out, I just don't think there were many other teams willing or able to pay that price. |

I think Gaglardi only drew more attention to it. |
