Yes this trade makes no sense for Buffalo. Kane will likely want to play there just as much as he did in Winterpeg

The idea of Kassian + Jensen + 3rd for Kane is a much better deal. I still don't want Kane in the organization. He'll demand to be in the top 6. Who gets punted out? Burrows?

They didn't trade Fiala it was Armia. But I agree it is a lot to give up for Kane and I'm glad we didn't pay that price. I think WPG got a lot of value back, but really altered the trajectory of their team. By the time they can contend I think their core guys now will be getting long in the tooth. I think BUF expended some assets to pick up the pace a bit on their rebuild

If he hits FA in 3 years we probably won't want him. Teams tend to get their stars locked up, so unless he becomes the next Chris Stewart he will not be coming home

He's a UFA in a month and a half, retaining his salary works out to about 200K, not really a big deal.
