Its humorous that Kane is dealt to one of the worst clubs in the NHL. Even if they may not be for long. Lets see if the grass is greener so to speak.. Don't let the cold icy door hit your ass on the way out. - flyer_nutter
They're praying an 18-year-old is going to come in and make the worst roster in the league better
Seems to me they were just thinking that about Sam Bennett
And Rasmus Ristolainen
And Nikita Zadorov
And Mikhail Grigorenko
And Joel Armia
And Tyler Myers
Maybe one of these days, they will be right. Might as well keep losing so they can find out, is what I hear |

so to Buffalo:
Kane 37 GP 10-12-22
Bogosian 41 GP 3-10-13
Kasdor - RPI (ECAC) Junior - career 24-20-2 2.31
to Winnipeg
Myers 47 GP 4-9-13
Stafford 50 GP 9-15-24
LemieuX OHL - 46 GP 35-15-50 - career 153 GP - 68-49-117
Armia - AHL - 33 GP 10-15-25 - career - 87 GP 17-35-52 - 1 NHL game
First rounder belonging to St Louis or the Isles
Honestly I think Winnipeg did quite well. - nastyflyergirl
I think so as well considering Kane was done in Winnipeg ... he's also injured so they replaced him with actual roster players and a draft pick.
Winnipeg wins this trade IMO.

I also beleive the Flyers are capable of playing much better then they did. - MJL
And this is where we continue to differ.
Every time the Flyers are outplayed, and lose... its never because the other team is better, or was able to beat the Flyers. The Flyers are always beating themselves. The Flyers are capable of playing better. The Flyers would have won had they been opportunistic in their one period where they dictated play.
I disagree. Last night what I saw was a bubble team fight hard, work hard the entire game, only to slowly but surely get picked apart by a far superior team. The better team got better as the game wore on. At the end, the better team also won. |

certainly helps Winnipeg right now being they are in the heat of a playoff race and lost Kane. plus they pick up 2 prospects and another first (between the Isles and Blues pick which means very late in the first round) - nastyflyergirl
The Jets have a talented crop of prospects like Nikolaj Ehlers, who should be able to replace Kane within the next few years. They have a solid team this year and I think they'll be able to compensate reasonably well. |

Of course they win it in the near future, but what if Kane goes on for a decade with McEichol as his center and ends up as perennial 75+ point guy?
This season is a no brainer. Winnipeg got stronger. I dont know how things will pan out in the future though. |

I could see Kane pouting just as badly in Buffalo unless that team gets better quickly.
Not sure Nolan (think that's the coach there now) will be all that great for Evander. |

Agreed. What is Buffalo trying to do here? They're not in the position to make this kind of trade yet - Giroux_Is_God
well the Sabres are ranked first in prospects and have a lot of draft picks in the 2015 draft so I guess they felt they could afford this move. |

Lemieux and Armia are better than most of the Flyers forward prospects. In fact, they're probably better than all of the Flyers forward prospects. Laughton, Cousins, Aude-Kubel, Leier are below Lemieux and Armia, IMO. Maybe not Laughton but the WPG's two have a higher upside than him. |

It's funny how people always think that someone else's problem is your solution
On what planet has Evander Kane looked like he could be a 75-point guy for a decade? He has never cracked 60.
He hasn't scored 20 goals in four of the five seasons he has played
It is amazing how this guy is viewed as something he has never been shown to be when he could just as easily be what he has proven to be: a pain in the ass |

By being one of the worst teams in the league for many years in a row and acquiring picks for players. |

I don't know if I'd say Armia and Lemieux are above Laughton. Armia isn't exactly lighting it up in the AHL. |

I like the deal for Buffalo. I'm not a fan of Stafford and I'm lukewarm on Myers. Armies and Lemieux are solid prospects, and even a late first is good the way the Jets draft, but I like Kane and Bogo for the Sabres. There's good potential for the Jets if Myers gets untracked and the prospects pan out, but Kane with McDavid or Eichel... |

They have higher upside than Laughton but Laughton is the better player right now considering he is a top 9 NHL forward. It all depends on how you look at it I suppose. Armia and Lemieux are definitely better than the rest of the Flyers' forward prospects though. As of right now at least. |
