how do you think they got their defense
omg by making trades and dumping spare parts like gomez - 2Real
How do you think the Flyers got their defense?
Coburn, Streit, AMac, Grossmann, Luke Schenn?
OMG BY MAKING TRADES!
The Gomez deal was horrible at the time, but remember that McDonagh was a spare part throw in, Higgins was the big piece. |

still goes to show you that someone was going to pay the freight.
although the inclusion of bogo is big.
i dont know. im torn on it. im not a huge myers guy, but i do think he could have pulled in a good bit himself.
stafford isnt worth much to me. as a rental he could have been moved for maybe a 3rd?
then you have the two prospects. not too familiar with the one, but armia at least had some buzz about him. nothing earth shattering though.
a first is nothing to laugh at, even if it was the lowest one they had.
but kane and bogo are 2 solid, solid assets. |

No, cause they wanted our 2014 1st and our 2015 1st as well.
Sanheim + Simmonds + 2015 1st > Ekblad, even though he's great. - Feanor
that was the proposed deal? yeah giving up the 2015 would be something I wouldn't have wanted to do |

I'm still waking up at night cursing our previous GM for that blunder ... Ryan McDonagh would look very good on our blue line right now. |

Correction: A highly-paid traffic cone.
Edit: They've actually traded 2 30-goal left wingers for 2 highly-paid traffic cones. |

Its funny but I look at the trade from the Winnipeg side and think they did well. then I look at it from the Buffalo side and get why they did what they did and also considering they had the pick and prospects to deal. so maybe this ends up being one of those moves where both sides are quite happy |

It's net neutral on the face of it, to me -- Myers is better than Bogosian, to me.
Kane has real potential and upside, and has scored 30. But the offset are the prospects -- Joel Armia has tools -- and they get a pick
Probably going to be net neutral, when it is all said and done

I'd rather have Bogosian, but when you include injuries, it's a wash.
Armia had fallen out in Buffalo, Stafford is a 3rd liner on a deeper team, but they will help the team both now and in the future. Throw in Lemieux and the 1st for Kane and I think Winnipeg gets the better end. |

Staying out of the Buffalo board, as they're convinced they just fleeced Buffalo (I said the same thing at first, didn't see the 1st was included). |

This is a legit interpretation, as well -- some people could absolutely prefer Bogosian to Myers |
