you should be enjoying the team you have now
that poop is crying over spilt milk and the Habs are looking great this year
of course we are guilty too
JVR for L Schenn... still read about this every week
some still bring up the Patrick Sharp deal - Marc D
So far so good but we're still a few pieces away from the big prize IMO.
Bergevin is getting us there slowly but surely (I hope). |

Flyers trade 1st round pick which turned into John Carlson for Steven freaking Eminger - Winning
Why does it matter who Washington pick? Are you sure the Flyers would have taken him? What if Washington took Daultan Leveille instead? Would you have felt differently? |

Steve Mason is good, not elite.
Coburn is a good 2nd pair defender.
Please note where this has been contested. - jmatchett383

Yes, but cap hit aside, I'd trade Mason straight-up for any of them. |

It was said earlier, but if/when Raffl returns, we might see some better play on a few lines
I'm excited about these next few games, because no matter what, Buffalo is even weaker now than they were yesterday, because John LeClair Sr. is not available and they trade a roster forward, to boot
No reason not to get four points off Buffalo, then look for a split or maybe three of four from Columbus, if the fates are aligned |

It's net neutral on the face of it, to me -- Myers is better than Bogosian, to me.
Kane has real potential and upside, and has scored 30. But the offset are the prospects -- Joel Armia has tools -- and they get a pick
Probably going to be net neutral, when it is all said and done - AllInForFlyers
It's a lot to take in.
Armia is the wild card... if he can play catch up and end up turning into something, WPG could be OK in the end. But man... no question BUF got the two best players in the deal as of today... players that carry immense risk, but all-world talents. Myers and Stafford are... meh. |

Im just saying that you seem to have this mantra. Yes, the Flyers did beat the Caps. They played probably their best team game of the year as well, while being forced to overcome some adversity.
Anytime someone mentions the Flyers are not a very good team, you say they are capable of better play, and point to certain games. The Flyers are currently 9 points out of a playoff spot. Thats despite the fact that they have gotten 14 out of a possible 20 points in their last 10 games (points in 8 of 10: 6-2-2).
We just differ in positions on this. I think the Flyers are where they are in the standings because they are not a very good team. Sometimes bad teams play at a higher level at different junctions of the season. They go hot. They have good games mixed with bad games. Conversely the opposite happens to good teams. They will have down spurts.
At the end of the day, the seasonal Flyers are not a very good team in my opinion. Agree or disagree.. It doesnt really matter to me. - jak521
It's pretty clear that you don't understand my opinion. You also have a mantra, which seems to think that one team is always removed from the equation in the outcome of a game. As if the Flyers don't have any say in what happens. As if every time the Flyers lose a game to a team higher up in the standings, it's just because they're a better team then the Flyers are. There is no question that this current Flyers team has the players to compete for a playoff spot. That they aren't currently competing for that spot, is due to a lot of factors. One of which is that they've uneracheived on the season.
If it didn't matter to you, you wouldn't be constantly replying to my posts with a differing viewpoint. Which for the record, I have no problem with, that's what we're hear for. |

Again. THIS IS WHERE WE DIFFER
I think the Flyers will beat good teams and lose to bad teams. That stuff happens every year, regardless of the makeup of a team.
You stating that the Flyers underachieved is where we differ in opinion, and is what I have been trying to explain.
I think the Flyers are doing exactly what they were predicted to do. It is exactly what I said I thought they were going to do in the pre-season. They are a playoff bubble team. I said in September I thought they were be closer to a top 10 pick than to a playoff spot.
YOU think they are underachieving. Simple as that. I just dont understand that sentiment. Im sorry...
EDIT: What did you expect from them, so as to label them underachieving? |

In the few times I have seen Bogosian, i didn't see the hockey sense, but I defer to those who have
I like Myers more than most -- he was not very good most of last year, but I think he turned it around late and has been good this year
He has physical gifts like few others

I agree.
With some of the pieces Buffalo has and if they get one of the top 2 picks plus whatever that 2nd first rounder turns into they could be looking good. Also Pegula will spend money once this team is ready to move forward.

Don't really want to meddle, but I'd say several of them (notably Read, Coburn, and Lecavalier) are underachieving when you compare their play this year to the few seasons prior. |
