I'll take some credit for this deal, I knew about it a day or so ago just didn't know all the players like I posted, I knew a couple but not all. Stafford and Armia I knew and maybe Psysk was the D man if the Jets wanted one.

I also said no way Myers was going to the Ducks.

He has so-so stats with RPI, could be a career AHL'er.

This trade is exactly the kind of trade that Murray told us he would make. He'd trade picks, expiring contracts, and prospects to get young NHL ready players. Kane and Bogo are exactly that. Myers was probably moved now because his NMC clause kicks in after this season, I believe.

Murray must not like Myers.

Kane and Bogosian are the two best pieces in the trade.

you said you wanted to be better next year
well thats exactly what happened
you got your #1 winger for McEichel, and you got a dman who right now is better than Myers.
Sure in 3-4 years this will probably be a Jets win but right now, if you're wanting to try and make the playoffs next year, this is the right move

That's a bit of a stretch I think. With only 4 points separating them, and Buffalo getting 4 points recently, it's not something too safe to pencil in.

What I am trying to understand are people saying, "if we dont draft either of those two, we lose the trade". Not sure how that affects the trade grade, considering our own pick isnt involved.

I'm fine with this trade. At first I hated Lemieux in this move but ya gotta give to get. The fact that Murray wants to re-shape his team and take chances is a win-win in my eyes. There will be more trades coming and more prospects drafted. He clearly didn't think much of Myers or Armia. I think Kane will flourish in the east.

We just got rid of talent and Kane will not play this year. It makes the team worse in the short term.

All i ever heard was how much of a wuss Darcy Regier was. All of a sudden a GM comes in with the stones to make a move like this and people are headed for the peace bridge.

Tough pill to swallow but I like having Kane in our top six moving forward.
